Copy n pasta blog post!
This week's been a doozy, so I've just focused on finishing my little self-portrait-fursona. I'll crack into the page properly on Monday.
Over the last 7? After years of doing this comic, the number one question I usually get is which of the three characters am I the most? Is Owen a self-insert? Am I Nick? Judy? The reality is that I've always just been telling their story, and I'm just... me, an author to that story. I feel like I'm equal parts of all three characters, with lots of room for all my other characteristics too.
Samur posted a new character sheet, and right at the same time, I had a conversation about community and my own (lack of) furry heritage with a friend who's very proud of their own. Made me want to make something...
Didn't know how much to share for the 'sona, and on the guidance of friends who've made their own, it's got a healthy dose of fiction in addition to the truths. I'm really happy with where it all ended up. Genuinely feels and looks like me!
Decided on a Grey/Black Fox, but also fell in love with the look of a specific Menaistic Fox that had these rad orange accents. Figured I'd make it a seasonal coat, so I could have both!
Don't know what I'll do with this sona: I'm not much of a commissioner. But it is nice to have a sort of meet the author image. Something to connect me a bit more to the community with =)
