This is a really important poll for me. I've been working on this visual novel for about a year now — it's become my true passion, and I'm constantly trying to level up my skills in every single aspect.
For a long time, I've been wrestling with this tough question about the art style. It takes me forever to make up my mind. Here's the thing: the model I've been using to generate the visuals is getting pretty outdated. All the coolest, freshest stuff is coming out on the newer models these days. To bring a lot of my ideas to life the way I envision them, I really need to try switching to an updated model.
But here's the catch — the artwork will change. The overall style should stay roughly the same (±), but the actual rendering and quality, as you can see in this piece, will look different. Whether it's better or worse is a huge question, and I really want to hear what the community thinks about it.
In the image attached, you can see a scene generated with one of the new models I'm testing right now. Please tell me honestly: how does it look to you? Does it feel juicy, beautiful, and acceptable? Or do you actually dislike what you're seeing?
