It has been a few weeks now since the doxing, and while I'm wary, I've also been watching social media for further reactions, and feel fairly safe to test the waters by bringing this patreon back online. I still have a lot to sort out - including new hosting for the handbook that doesn't share my legal name, and trying to set up a PayPal where folks can donate directly without seeing the same - but here's some updates on the status of things:
The handbook isn't dead. While I've taken the past few weeks away from things, I don't have any intent to abandon the project. It's very nearly complete except for the artwork, and I don't want to abandon those who have and still do support my work.
An Updated handbook link should hopefully be available sometime later this week. I just need to re-host it, probably on Google Drive, which I think works better for most people anyways.
The Character Sheet project is on hold, since money has tightened up again. Same goes for other art. But I've secured a loan I can take out for some of that, once I'm certain the money won't immediately be eaten up by bills.
I'm not certain when I will be returning to discord. I'd like it to be sooner than later, but I'm trying to take it slow, and test the waters before I jump back in.
My IRL has been affected, but not as much as it could have been. It's been harder to keep the bills paid when I can't rely on picking up odd hours here and there with clients I formerly relied on for that, but I've been in tighter spots before. Still, your support right now definitely goes a long way towards keeping me and my wife afloat.
Expect to see more patreon updates moving forward. This has been its own kind of nightmare, but I've learned over the years to make the most of a bad thing, and I'm going to use this as a chance to try and change up how I promote the project, and engage with the community.
