I wish you all a very Happy Easter, surrounded by your families and the people who truly matter to you—the ones you love.
This week has been a very difficult one for me. I lost a dear friend who had been fighting cancer for the past three years. It affected me deeply, because beyond being my friend, she was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She had no badness in her heart. She treated everyone with warmth, welcomed everyone with open arms, and was always ready to help. She was incredibly humble and truly special.
My friend struggled for years to get pregnant. Not long after I did, she was finally able to, and just like me, she had a baby girl. But only three months after her baby was born, she discovered she had cancer. What should have been the happiest time of her life also became the hardest.
My heart is broken. I keep thinking about her little 3-year-old daughter, and her parents… for whom she was their only child—their greatest treasure.
So my dear friends… please, cherish your lives as much as you can. Hold close the people you love. Life is fragile, and time is something we should never take for granted.
