Tight race in this week's request poll between Corman's The Intruder and Nichols' Shotgun Stories, with the older film ultimately prevailing by two percentage points. (Phase IV received a quarter of the vote, wasn't that far behind. At one point the three were reportedly tied.) I haven't seen it, know nothing about it other than title, year and director. And that I can watch it on Kanopy via my library.

Gonna finally watch Torso this week, and now it's joined by July's two random selections. Robert Kramer's Route One / USA was still an active request, just shy of halfway to auto-qualifying; had anyone been wondering whether I cheat by running the algorithm more than once to avoid certain films, this should prove otherwise, as I've already got the 262-minute Doomed Love on my plate and Route One (which to my surprise is also on Kanopy) likewise busts past four hours. I will get to these intimidatingly long avant-garde works...when I can. Or let's say when I feel like I have the stamina. Surely less taxing (but possibly suffering from standard adaptation issues; I've never read Salt's novel, though) is The Day of the Locust, which got the minimum qualifying four week-run some years ago and can be found on Hoopla at the moment.

It being Nolan Time Again, here's me waxing enthusiastic on the nerd group 25 years ago.
