After the last post, I blocked many crooks, but this will take a long time to clean everything, since I have a total audience of about 3 thousand here, and many of them are either still subscribed and abusing the system, or those who have already unsubscribed but remain in free followers but can return anytime they want. In general, it will take some time, but that's not the point.And the main point is that I realized that Patreon doesn't give any useful information at all to people who subscribe to my subscription plan[Per-Creation], and because of this, there's just a bunch of financial misunderstandings between the creator and paid members.From your feedback and comments, I have identified several key problems that people face and will list them down here and try to give advice on how to solve them for anyone who has encountered these problems1. Seems like Patreon does not provide obvious advices and detailed information to people on the primary subscription page about how it works and what is the difference between a Monthly subscription and a Per-Creation subscription types.I'll describe once again how it works and what the difference is, I'll try to keep it short.========================================================================Monthly subscription is subscription type with a fixed plan. Everything is obvious here, you pay a fixed amount per month and that's it, let's say 5 dollars. It doesn't matter how many posts I make or not make at all, Patreon will charge you that amount money. I don't work on this system.========================================================================Per-Creation subscription, this type of subscription is more flexible and, in my understanding, more honest.Stage 1 - you make an initial payment to get access to the content, in my case this is the minimum amount of 1 dollar.Stage 2 - is the payment for a month, or as it is called in Patreon, the "Charging Cycle". At the end of the month at 1st day of the next month, Patreon will bill you for all the posts that I made marked "Charged members on ". This label can be seen on each post near their statistics on the number of likes, comments and publication date, in the lower right corner, these posts are considered as "Paid Posts" or "Paywall Posts", and only they are taken into account by Patreon when issuing the final invoice for the month for each member with subsription.Stage 3, The most important - the initial contribution amount[Pledge] and the personal payment spent limits for Patreon for a month.The bottom line is that the system I work on "Per-Creation" is just tied to your initial payment, so I made it minimal = $1, so that it would be more accessible to more people. When it comes time for the "Charging Cycle", Patreon counts the number of Paid posts and multiplies this by your initial payment, thus calculating the final amount that will be debited from your card. For example, your initial payment is $1. And I made 7 paid posts in a month. Patreon Multiplies 7 Paid Posts by your initial payment which is = $1, so for this month, $7 will be deducted from your card. 7*1=$7However! if your initial payment is more than $1, for example, $2 or $3 or more, then it will be calculated using exactly the same multiplication formula. 7*3=$21But if I don't do anything in a month, not a single paid post, then nothing will be deducted from your card. This is the reason why I consider this system to be more transparent and honest, since people will not pay for air if I am not able to work for some reason. The only thing that will be charged from your card is a one-time initial payment to remain access to content for a month, that is, $1, or as much as you decide to choose yourself.And the most confusing thing, as it turned out, is the - Personal limits on the amount of money per month for debiting from the card.When subscribing, some subscribers have limited the Monthly Limit to an amount equal to the amount of their initial payment, that is, $1. And so it turns out that they still have access to all the content, but Patreon does not charge them for a single paid post.This happens only in 2 cases. The first case is simply the user's ignorance and misunderstanding of the principle of operation of this system, which Patreon must take care of, but seems like it does not. And the second case is targeted fraud and abuse of the system in order to have access to the content and not pay anything for it. Often, such people are either just dishonest and bad people, or those who leak all paid content online to fill their trash sites filled with 999 ads banners on a single page to loot money from it. And as you know from my last post, I actively monitor such activity and similar accounts to ban and report them, but I also understand that the banned person could be the one from the First case, which is sad.After analyzing all the statistics and reviews, I found a solution to this problem for everyone:1. I recommend everyone to change your initial payment[Pledge] to the amount of $1. I really appreciate your support, and thank you very much to those who donate a larger amounts, but as I have said many times before, I would prefer longer support in smaller amounts than a one-time large one, as it means more stability and predictability. But whatever it is, in the end it's up to you to decide how to manage your funds.2. For those who do not like unpredictability, I advise you to set a monthly limit for an amount that is convenient for you. So that at the end of the month it will not be a surprise for you to debit a larger amount from your card than you are used to, since sometimes I do a lot more works per month than usual, especially for those who make an initial donation of more than $1 it can hit harder. I don't want this to upset people, but rather to make them happy. For this reason, I ask you to take some time and go into your settings and set a limit on debit from the card per month for an amount that is convenient for you. In the current reality, for example $5 - $7 are the standard subscription prices on many resources, such as Twitch and others, so you can set something around it, so no matter how much paid post i make you won't be charged above expected amount you set, and if i make less, you will pay obviously less.Such a limit will in some way transform my "Per-Creation" system for you into something like a "Monthly Subscription" system with a fixed price that will not change above your chosen threshold, which I think is great and means less headaches for everyone.
