So a few months ago I discovered that I have drawn more Mary Jane fanart than literally any other character I have ever drawn in my entire life hahaha. Therefore, I am presenting you all with the MJ Collection, a post that shows every drawing of MJ I have done thus far - starting with the newest, and then immediately jumping back to the first piece of her I did, and then going forward in time from there.
Honestly, I am VERY interested to hear which of these many are your favorites, and also maybe answers to some other questions: Do you like when I give her the Romita-esque hair, or more of the MacFarlane-esque? What outfits do you like her in most - cool, punky leather or latex? Or maybe the cute, fashionista vibe? Freckles or NO freckles??? Obviously I draw her as a rampant bisexual lol - do you get those vibes from her?
Some of these drawings are substantially better than others, but I hope they all paint a wonderful portrait of my love and adoration for Mary Jane. Trust me, if I had my way, I would do a whole-ass Mary Jane comic entirely on my own, and it would probably sell like fucking GANGBUSTERS lmaooo.
And now for a little process for our new piece: here are the inks, he flats, and the background (which I did after the rest was done, which is why it’s clear where certain things are cut off lmao). Hope this gives you a sense of my process!
I pull a lot from how Tim Sale and colorist Steve Buccallato portrayed Forest Hills in Spider-Man: Blue, a book which almost never leaves my mind hahaha.
Also let me know if you enjoy these “Collections”! I have a blast showing all this work at once, because I think it really shows a lot of growth and development all in one place :)
Thanks for checking it out!
