From a man with a known love of the game, After one tie that almost became another; Gambit!
I can't lie, I've been looking forward to an opportunity to draw Gambit... I may have a weakness for especially charming wifeguy bisexuals, sue me. He, along with Wolverine and the X-men in general by extension are one of the few vulnerabilities I have to being interested in anything from Marvel. I remember watching the revived 97 show with friends when it came out (looking forward to season 2!!), and I've been tempted to find a way to get into the comics, but I'm also admittedly intimidated by such a prospect given how expansive those are 💀.
He and Rogue are genuinely so sweet and I love and respect them very much; however I may very well be taking advantage of the fact that they're from a series with millions of alternate universes lol. Maybe this piece will be taking in an AU where they're open or in a polycule - who knows - but if me mentioning Wolverine earlier was anything I think y'all already know who I intend to put him with~ 🤭. Beyond 97 i've done some research and they're both men who carry both a lot of love and a lot of regrets, and I do enjoy some emo flavourings to my fictional men...
And in that vein, 97 is definitely gonna be my main frame of reference but I should also ask; what do we feel about me referencing other renditions? it's not far off from his 97 rendition with the swooping red-brown hair and face scruff but some of his recent 2020s uncanny x-men comic renditions have been rather scrumptious...
All that said, as I always say since it never hurts just in case; pledgers feel free to suggest scenario ideas! No promises, but it doesn't hurt to have something to maybe workshop if I have some trouble!
