Red Claw! Not to be confused with Catwoman, who’s “thing” is also cat-adjacent crimes!
Hades did a solid job on this fig! They really have cornered the market for BTAS figs! It’s a simple design, but they nailed it perfectly!
This character isn’t the first one you might think of when BTAS comes to mind, but it's still a fun character (and possibly a bit obscure these days) to have in the collection! Still weird how Hades hasn’t made somebody like Poison Ivy or Riddler yet though… 🤔
Anyway, back to this figure right here!
Initially released in April 2024 for around $90, its pretty good! If the Red Claw herself was a more prominent character in the zeitgeist, I’m sure more folks would be onboard for the price. Even I wish it would have been something closer to the $70 range. But the quality of production here is what I’ve come to expect from Hades, so it checks out.
Just peep that nice wrap around limb printing! 👀

Only thing that feels like a miss given the price… is the shoulders…
It’s a shame Hades didn’t print the flesh tone ink over the shoulders. This one blank area is hard to avert my gaze…
This fig also has a case of the “waist gap” problem we’ve talked about before. Where a designer opts to print waistlines on all four sides of the torso, instead of just the front and back. It causes these weird dark gaps on the fig that can be a deal-breaker for some collectors…

Outside of those two things, everything else print-wise is good!
As for the custom parts, the hair is really cool! It’s got good shaping, and the white ink on the hair is handpainted very cleanly! Even the inside of the element is clean!

The only other included accessory has me a little puzzled though…

The handle on the truth-serum gun is a bit long… and square. Hmm. I mean yeah, it’s accurate to the source material, but it’s weird for a minifig to hold and just looks a bit odd 🤷🏻♂️

I still really do enjoy this fig, despite some of it's design choices. It's not perfect, but a custom fig rarely is!
Again, $90 for this one, which makes perfect sense, but I wish it was cheaper. The nice quality for the custom parts, and the good wrap around printwork for the limbs though? It’s all good stuff for me!
