Hi everyone
I wanted to make a brief post regarding some general mod-making announcements. This will apply to my seamless co-op mods as these projects are currently my main focus.
I've passed my most recent exams, and my next (and final) one is toward the end of the year so I have more time than usual. My main focus has been on Dark Souls II as I am focusing on getting a playable build out as soon as it is ready.
Dark Souls: Remastered [ BETA ]
No further development has taken place since my last post.
Dark Souls II [ TBA ]
Dark Souls II seamless co-op has received my full attention since the last post. I've completed a few playthroughs (+ DLC) with friends to test mod stability and it is good so far - I have been fixing issues as they come up but with each subsequent playthrough the experience gets smoother.
The amount of changes and overhauls I've had to make the game is ridiculous at this point, and if I'm honest if I knew it would be this much work at the start I'd have announced it WAY later on. I have most if not all of the main game systems completely dissected, modified, or entirely replaced with my own implementation in an effort to get it working smoothly.
It's very obvious that this game engine is entirely different from the others. I'm so incredibly grateful that they did not continue with the one that FromSoftware developed Dark Souls II in.
The project is easily twice the size of the Dark Souls 1, 3, and Elden Ring projects put together.
I'm at the stage now where I'll be working on making a video (as I have my other projects) to formally "announce" the project, as well as demonstrating some of the mechanics as they are different to the other one seamless co-op mods.
People have asked for an ETA which, while I appreciate people are anxious to try it, I will definitely make it known when it is available for testing. Information on the expected release of the mod will be free information.
In the process of taking the game apart, many vanilla bugs and QoL changes have been made:
Removal of the axial dead-zone converting to a 36% radial dead-zone is a toggle players will be able to adjust the ini file (fixed with permission from the author of the pre-existing deadzone fix. (toggle in the settings file)
Fixing the "Disable double click" bug for keyboard users
Fixing the "Invalid weapon upgrade" crash
Fixing the "Invalid weapon infusion" crash
Re-implementation of the server event treasure mechanic for SoTFS
Customisable game boot volume
Allowing users to skip the end-roll credits on the first NG cycle (usually unskippable unless NG+, 9 minutes long)
Even though these QoL changes can be seen as 'extra' to the main co-op functionality of the mod. I just fixed these as I came across them when doing other things.
As of writing this I'm still not happy with opening testing phases but I will let people know more about that soon™
I'll keep it brief here - There's a lot more explanation and behind-the-scenes posting available for those who would like to become a supporter. I will post the video on my YouTube channel which it is ready which will contain all of the information people need to know.
Dark Souls III [ ALPHA ]
No further development has taken place since my last post.
Elden Ring [ BETA ]
Elden Ring Seamless Co-op is currently on v1.9.9 - Many PvP changes have taken place since the last post including some fixes to some common cheats that some invaders were using against other players.
There's still some more change I'd like to make, including (moderate) player cap increases and some extra multiplayer features, however these are currently on the back burner as I focus more on getting the TBA projects developed and released.
I'm aware that people are experiencing issues with the mod still - years after release - but all of these projects are a slow burn for me. I work on them as and when I can.
Sekiro [ TBA ]
No further development has taken place since my last post.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon [ ALPHA ]
No further development has taken place since my last post.
As always - thank you for your patience and a huge thank you to all of my supporters <3
Take care,
Yui
