It's around 5am on Sunday morning. Eddie stayed in last night; Seamus did not. Eddie wakes up to hear the door of his room swing open, and someone stumbles drunkenly over to his bed. And then, as he stares at the wall trying to pretend he's still asleep, he feels that someone collapse into bed next to him - and an arm wraps around his chest to hold him tight, even as that someone slips quickly into a deep sleep, exhaling alcohol-scented breath against the back of his neck.
I've wanted to explore this scene for a really long time and I think we're at the point in the storyline where it makes sense to bring it to life. This is a bit of a feel-bad painting, due to all the uncertainty and anxiety Eddie's feeling, but I'm very interested in exploring the tension between these two deeper - especially that tension around getting something that should be beautiful and emotionally intimate, but it might all be a mistake, or a lie.
I'll be hard at work to bring this scene fully to life to present to you guys on the 1st!! Stay tuned!
