SDA 4.4 & Ashe 1.4 Dev Update - Over 1,200 New Voiced Lines
DESCRIPTION

Hey guys,

Ho lee sheet. The latest Ashe and SDA updates are shaping up to be absolutely huge.

Together, SDA 4.4 and Ashe 1.4 add over 1,200 new voiced lines, including new quest commentary, romance content, custom conversations, follower banter, and quality-of-life dialogue. I say this each time, but I swear the scopes keep getting bigger with every major batch. I’m really excited for the rest of the SDA sunset, as well as the remaining Ashe content coming later this year - including the big Ashe Epilogue quest.

Right now, I’m fully in production mode. Lines have already been sent to Kerstyn for SDA, and I’ve already begun recording sessions with Anna for Ashe. I’ll keep you posted as I inch closer toward playable builds, Early Access, and eventually the full release. Promo and preview videos will be filmed whenever I have the bandwidth.

Here’s the TL;DR for both Ashe and Serana. This is the most up-to-date summary of what is currently planned for the update, so treat this as a stronger source of truth than the broader, more general dev roadmap I posted back in January.

TL;DR — SDA 4.4 (Blood and Memory)

Highlights include new Daedric quest commentary, expanded vampirism and cure-related scenes, a romance-only consensual feeding feature, new Serana/Aniya interactions, and a major new Ashe/Serana banter pass.

TL;DR — Ashe 1.4 (The Shape of a Soul)

Highlights include Chapter 7.5 - The Phantom Ache, new main quest and selected Daedric quest awareness alongside Serana, expanded slow-burn romance moments, more Ashe/Serana banter, new personal conversations, custom-name and custom-conversation support, and follower quality-of-life additions.

Early Access for both mods is planned sometime in June–July 2026, subject to change. As usual, the full release is expected about a month after the closed beta release.

SDA Stuff:

For Serana in particular, I’m really excited for the remaining SDA sunset updates. Version 4.4 has reminded me just how much strong Serana material is still left to explore, and I want this final stretch to feel worthy of everything SDA has built up over the years.

I’m especially excited about the new feeding feature. Honestly, I didn’t realize how good of a fit it was until I started properly writing it. It was not even originally planned as part of the sunset, but between fan requests, feedback, and a few really strong bursts of inspiration, it ended up becoming one of the update’s standout additions.

The Daedric quest commentary has also been a really rewarding writing pass. These quests give Serana room to reflect on themes like power, consent, predation, control, undeath, trauma, and what it means to walk away from darkness. I genuinely think some of the writing here is among my strongest Serana material yet, possibly even up there with - or beyond - some of the House of Horrors questline work.

But don’t just take my marketing word for it. Play the content when it comes out, or, if you’re a paying Patreon member, you can already read the behind-the-scenes production scripts here on Patreon.

If 4.4 is any indication, you can expect the remaining SDA sunset updates - 4.5-4.7, - to receive the same level of care.

Ashe Stuff:

For Ashe, Version 1.4 is another big step toward making her feel like a true super follower: more quest awareness, more features, more Serana synergy, more personal conversations, and more romance development across the questline.

I may honestly need to update the whole “Ashe is an amazing follower with a big questline and 3k lines” pitch at some point, because that line count was only accurate for her original release. Since then, she’s already had multiple big content updates, including 1.1, 1.2, and now 1.4.

I’m especially excited to keep developing Ashe’s story as we move toward the Epilogue Update later this year. Chapter 7.5 — The Phantom Ache acts as a bridge into that future content, helping foreshadow the larger “Price of Sentience” finale and giving Ashe more room to reflect on what comes after vengeance. Small side note: some of the themes in this later portion of Ashe’s story were partly inspired by Hideo Kojima’s later work, hence the little nod in the Chapter 7.5 title.

This is also helping me realize more of my original vision for Ashe - a vision that had to be cut down for pragmatic reasons so I could actually ship Ashe 1.0 in the first place. And Ashe 1.0 was already massive, so yes, apparently I was imagining something even bigger hahahaha

On the romance side, with the canonical removal of the Hearthfire Protocol, Ashe’s romance is now purely a slow burn.* That does not mean it is less gratifying or satisfying. If anything, the goal is the opposite.

Players invested in Ashe’s romance will get to see someone like her slowly open up, process what the player means to her, and gradually develop into a romantic relationship over time. Version 1.2 already started pushing the romance in this direction by adding more foreshadowing and relationship moments, and Version 1.4 expands on that even further.

Because a lot of this new romance content is scattered across Ashe’s questline, I do recommend replaying her story if you want the full experience of watching that relationship bloom more naturally. That said, if you do not have time for a full restart, no worries - Version 1.4 also adds a new skip feature that lets returning players move more quickly into Chapter 1 and the rest of Ashe’s main quest.

Also, for those who requested custom names or custom conversations, you’ll be able to view the final compiled requests in the members-only documentation as well. That way, you can check how your request was finalized for production alongside the rest of the update materials.

More Deets:

For more details, you can read the articles on my website. If you’re a paying Patreon member, you can also read the production-ready scripts in the members-only sections of this post and follow the update from behind the scenes as recording, implementation, and testing continue.

Small housekeeping note: both SDA and Ashe have also received recent bugfix updates, including fixes for a pesky OStim-related issue affecting both mods and updated documentation for the now-fixed OAR crashing compatibility issues. If you haven’t updated in a while, it’s worth grabbing the latest versions (you know where to find them!) for the smoothest experience before the next major content batch.

Small personal note too: if I’ve been slow or unresponsive with DMs lately, thanks for bearing with me. I’ve been deep in production mode for these updates, but I’ll be catching up on messages over the next week.

Thanks again for supporting the work and helping make these updates possible.

Small website update too: Martimius Mods now has an actual domain name - Martimius Mods! It’s the same site as before, just no longer under the old sites.google address. Old links should still work, and I’ll be tweaking SEO and general site polish over time.

Stay awesome, folks. Marty

*The Hearthfire Protocol can still be enabled through an optional gameplay patch, available on Ashe’s mod page.

Hey guys! Paying members can find the full production-ready Ashe and SDA scripts here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10_4DIZSwTZDxs_TDzVTdeaGT2TMHiwh2W9fyLY-eYJc/edit?usp=sharing

Spoiler warning, of course - these include unreleased quest, romance, commentary, and banter content for Ashe 1.4 and SDA 4.4.

If you requested a custom name or custom conversation, you can also check the compiled production version of your request in the document.

As always, these are production-ready scripts, but minor wording or implementation-related edits may still happen before release.
