Five months. It had been five months since Torin’s last job with Alba.
Damn if it hasn’t felt like years, Torin thought as he scanned the worn-out guild job posting board. It was a haphazard selection of various dungeon raids, castle assaults, and the ever odd “research” postings (which always seemed to be interested in collecting intimacy data, Torin had yet to do one which actually seemed scientifically focused instead of just plain horny).
Nothing popped out. Torin had been hoping to catch Alba near the job board, but their paths never had seemed to cross lately. He was able to settle himself in for an unusual sounding bodyguard job for some vampire lord (werewolves marked as being “specifically requested!”) when he noticed a signature he recognized.
"ALBA".
Torin moved his sight to the top of the posting and saw she signed up for a dungeon sweep. In fact, It looked like she was the only one who signed up for the dungeon sweep. He grinned as he added his own signature under hers. He was about to run off, but he paused. He looked around quickly, then got close to the board and ran his nail along the middle of the flyer. RIPPPP! He effectively cut off the rest of the slots for other mercs to join up.
Just for good measure, he thought smugly to himself.
—
The hell is my party at? Alba fumed to herself as she sat near the dungeon entrance. She rested her cheek on her fist and scowled. Normally she would’ve gotten some details from the client about who was joining her and whatnot, but she hadn’t received communication. All she knew was the job was to clear the dungeon of straggler beasts, seemingly undead skeletons. Just a clean dungeon sweep.
Alba stood up and stretched out. Right, five more minutes and I’m going in. Could use the money anyway… merc fee would be a lot bigger going to one person instead of being split between five. Get myself something nice.
The sound of heavy footfalls crunching leaves and small sticks made Alba focus in. They got closer.
Finally! Okay, hope this guy is better than the last few I’ve been paired with. Although that minotaur guy from a while back was pretty good. Asterios or something? Powerful, gruff, to the point, and the night after wasn’t bad either. I can see why that knight girl pairs with him so much. Maybe it’s that orange lizard dude? He must’ve said his name a million times. His energy would be useful on a sweep job like this, but he’s a little too devoted. I don’t know if I’m completely up for all that mushy stuff afterwards. Damn… how often do my jobs end in bed? Oh, you know who it would be nice to see again-
“torin…” Alba said quietly to herself as she saw his rough, furred form come into view. He stood large and his presence dominated as he got closer to Alba. She was glad to see his familiar furs and scars before her eyes.
Torin grinned fangs and all before he switched his expression to what he imagined was a sly smile. Play it cool, he reminded himself. Can’t look too excited and desperate in front of her.
Alba barely hid her own excitement and desperation as Torin towered over her. “Hey big guy!” She playfully punched his arm, subtly getting the chance to feel his soft fur again after so long. She hid a wince as she nearly cracked her knuckle on his bicep. The hell? Is he that much stronger now?! I mean he’s definitely bigger now. Bulging arm muscles and veins, sharp abs even through his brown hair, way more of a…a…
“beefcake” she uttered.
Silence. Alba couldn’t believe she said it aloud. Torin couldn’t believe he heard her right.
Torin looked down at her puzzled, “... …what?”
Alba held her mouth agape as she gathered herself “uhh…I said you’re late (yeah, that works)! I’ve been waiting here so long! I was about to start by myself! Then you really would’ve been in trouble. I seriously doubt you could navigate a dungeon after last time.” Alba teased him.
“Hey!” Torin pointed to her in dismay as he clarified, “The client’s map was way off! Would’ve been better off without a map on that one even.” Torin realized he fell right into Alba’s teasing and tried to compose himself. He scratched his chest casually.
He’s still so easy to get riled ha! I gotta keep that in mind, Alba grinned and gained her confidence back.
“You take the lead then…furball.” she challenged. “We didn’t get a map for this one either. Actually, we didn’t get anything really. Odd. Did you hear anything from the client?”
Torin stood blank for too long as he tried to think of a lie to cover up messing with the job posting… … he couldn’t!
“We’re burning daylight out here!” He announced and quickly moved into the dungeon’s cavern entrance. He stopped, looked back to Alba, and he held his hand out.
“You coming?” he asked as redrew his attention all to her.
“Wouldn’t want to miss this.” Alba grinned and followed closely next to him. They descended into the dungeon depths together.
—
Room after room of weak skeleton mooks. Nothing exhausting or difficult. Torin didn’t mind too much though since it gave him plenty of downtime to talk with Alba.
“What was that move you did earlier? Didn’t think I had seen you do it before.” Alba probed him.
Torin thought back to the motions of the last encounter and tried to discern what she was talking about, “Which one?”
Alba stopped and mimicked a headbutt in the air followed by a high knee kick into the same spot. “It was like that,” she huffed.
Torin lit up. “Oh! It’s like a double disorientation thing. You hit their head twice: once with your own head and then with your knee when they fall.” Torin gladly clarified and demonstrated with a bit more grace. “Although your opponent has to be as tall as you or you can’t do it…so that limits you being able to do it a bit.”
“Hey! Most of these skeletons are about my height!” Alba countered. “I can do that little move more than you can. I’m surprised there even was a beastman skeleton like that last one.”
She pushed past him, “Watch. The next mooks we find, I’m gonna obliterate with that double head hit thing. I’ll show you who's the better brawler!” Torin watched as she haphazardly practiced the move while walking.
WHOOOSH! They both heard a forceful impact of magic being cast in a nearby corridor.
“Here, perfect time for me to show you how it’s done.” Alba quietly sneaked to the edge of the wall. “The spellcaster must be on the opposite side,” she whispered and motioned for him to join her.
Torin relaxed as he realized he had gotten her riled with his own teasing. “Here, I’ll hold this guy up so you can do it on him smooth.” He offered as he slid in place next to her. Their size difference was nearly comedic as they both readied themselves.
“Fine.” Alba gestured for them to turn the wall. “Go!”
They both turned the corner for the ambush. Torin rushed forward first to grab the spellcaster. “Waaah!” the female spellcaster gasped as Torin locked her shoulders in his arms. Torin held her easily and turned towards Alba to set her up for the move.
Alba dashed forward and reared her head back for the start of the move, hoping to impress Torin. She grinned crazily and rammed her head forward with what was probably a disorienting force.
Wait! I know that cry of fear. Alba stopped her momentum right before colliding with the spellcaster's head. Alba opened her eyes.
“Blair?” she said in recognition.
Blair struggled in Torin’s arms, eyes closed and trying to wave her arms. She opened her eyes and saw Alba staring back at her. She quickly spoke to reason with Alba, “AAAH, Alba! I’m not a mook!”
Alba burst out laughing and covered her face. Blair went limp in Torin’s arms as he started to wonder what was going on.
“Blair!” Alba said with difficulty between hearty laughs. “I didn’t know you picked up merc work. I mean this is an easier job, but still… Why are you out here doing this?”
Blair sheepishly shrinked in Torin’s arms. “I-I-I’m trying to raise some money for a secret thing. I-Cismo said-We-can you ask your werewolf friend to put me down now…please?”
Torin realized Blair wasn’t a threat and quickly (but carefully) dropped her. Blair felt a kind of overwhelming awe in seeing how Torin’s hulking frame was somehow even more oppressive just standing side by side with him. Alba squeezed Blair’s shoulder.
“Oh, that’s Torin by the way.” Torin made a small, friendly wave to her. “Relax, he’s a big softie under all that fur.” Torin stopped midwave and groaned at Alba. “So how’d you even find this job Blair?”
Blair stood for second and then dug in her pockets in a rush. She pulled out a crumpled parchment and held it in the air. “Here! It was listed on the board. I saw your names on both slots filled out but I took it off so I could do it alone.” She rubbed the back of her neck. “I…I wanted all the money.”
Alba burst out laughing again, struggling to contain herself. Torin looked over Blair’s shoulder at the crumpled job posting. “You’re supposed to leave it on the board so the client can get back to your party with the proper info.” He said as he pointed to the paper.
“Wha!? Nobody said that! It’s my first job! How was I supposed to know?” Torin shrugged unhelpfully at her. Alba laughed even more unhelpfully at her.
Torin's face dropped and he tensed as he noticed the parchment still held evidence of his tampering to be alone with Alba. He slowly took it from Blair’s hands. “Wha?”
“Here. I’ll hold onto this.” He reassured her. “A more official merc like me can handle it better, right?”
Blair deflated, “okay…”
Alba finally stopped laughing. “Whew. Alright, enough screwing around. We’ll finish the job with you Blair, but even split on the fee, how about that?”
“I-” she tried to argue.
“Then it's settled!” Alba energetically stopped forward. “C’mon you two!” They all pressed onward into the dungeon to finish the job out.
—
“That has to be it.” Torin announced. “That was the last pathway we hadn’t checked. I’d call this dungeon properly sweeped.”
“Not much of a job, but easy money.” Alba stretched herself out. Torin watched as her muscles leaned and pulled. As she moved she exposed more of her sweat glossed skin underneath her outfit.
He stood for a moment …fuck it. He decided.
He moved behind her, running his nails into her leather chest piece and pulling. He nuzzled his snout down into her shoulder and ran his warm tongue across her soft skin there, tasting the exertion of combat.
Finally! Alba rejoiced as she relaxed into Torin’s encompassing hold. “Why don’t you go farm some skeleton necromancy magic or whatever, Blair? Me and Torin are gonna do some extra merc stuff here.” Torin pulled more forcefully at her outfit. “Stuff beyond an amateur merc’s scope.”
“What? No! I wanna do merc stu-” Alba’s innuendo dawned on Blair as she saw Torin gain a feral look in his eyes. A look she remembered from her last werewolf research project. “Oh uh yeah, I’ll do that I guess.”
Blair walked off quickly as Torin nearly ripped off Alba’s outfit, “Been wanting to do this since I saw you at the dungeon entrance” he breathed against her naked flesh.
“Prove it then.” Alba dared him as she watched him pull his own armor pieces off. Torin growled and pulled her onto him…
—
Both exhausted, they curled up into each other on the dungeon floor using a nearby cloth to lay on. Torin tightly wrapped his arms around Alba’s smaller body as Alba’s arms barely managed to reach Torin's back in her own embrace. They settled warmly with one another, both content at finally being intimate with each other again after so long.
Alba nestled her face into the fur at Torin’s shoulder “Hey, Torin?” she asked, muffled against him.
“Yeah?” Torin waited patiently for a sentimental thanks or sappy comment from Alba. Here it comes, he thought smugly. She’s finally gonna let her guard down…
“What happened to the rest of the name slots on the job posting sheet?”
Torin froze in his embrace of Alba. For a moment, he thought about blaming Blair mishandling it and getting it ripped. He felt her soft body in his arms, the longing of weeks finally achieved and instead, he did something else.
“You know why, Alba.” he admitted as he released his tension.
Alba smirked against his shoulder. “I figured as much. Saw it sticking out of your armor over there.”
Neither moved or said anything for a moment. They both understood without words.
“Mmm… whadday think Torin? You wanna be merc partners? On an official basis I mean. Doing jobs together on the regular and all that?”
Torin hugged Alba a little tighter in his hold. “I’d like that a lot.”
“Me too big guy” she agreed. “Me too.”
They kept silent together again in each other’s arms.
Blair awkwardly made her way toward them. “Hey guys? I’m just kinda wandering around at this point. I dunno really know the way out.”
Alba giggled into Torin’s fur. “We’ll get you here in a second Blair.” Torin reassured her. “And we’ll give you a little extra of the money share for the… delay.”
Alba pulled at Torin’s long mane of hair. “Out of your portion, big guy, not mine!” she corrected him. “Though I’ll admit, I did selfishly keep Torin all to myself here.” She turned to look at Blair. “This is your first completed job Blair. Don’t you wanna celebrate a little?”
Blair gulped as she looked over Torin’s exposed form. His size and strength was even more evident without any clothing to hide it. I’ve got some experience with werewolves but Torin looks… overwhelming. I guess I could add an addendum to that part of my research piece. Get extra info on a less wild werewolf. Maybe he’ll be worn out after how long he and Alba were… busy with each other.
“Okay!” she announced determinedly. “If it gets us out of here faster, I mean…”
Alba and Torin both laughed. “Something like that” they said together.
Follow up scene from Alba x Torin from a few weeks ago! The story wasn't writen by myself, but by the commissioner who prefered to stay anonymous.
Even thought these are my OCs, I loved how they portrayed these characters! Honestly, I left them in the fridge for too long and the way they're fleshed up here helps a lot in adding them to the OC roster :D
The Blair scenes I setup in the earlier post, so this way Torin can get lucky with two ladies in the same night ^^
Hope you guys enjoy!
