I Did a Thing I Said I Wouldn't! The First Swag Reward is a Paradox
DESCRIPTION

After making the hard choice to no longer sell books through Patreon, the first prototype reward ends up being a friggin' BOOK!

Unlike previous books, though, this was made to test a printing format I've wanted to try: a flippable comic book. Featuring the two mirrored story arcs, 'Brian's Day' and 'Dawn's Day,'* the reader can read about one sibling's day, then flip the book over and read the other sibling's perspective.

*Titles were updated to include "Terrible" so new readers know what to anticipate - both of these deer are going to have A Bad Time.

For a long time I waffled back and forth on whether I should make this graphic novel. I kept coming up with reasons not to. The original art and stories changed dramatically during their creation, the cost of printing went up, shipping delays made it hard to plan for events, not to mention the number of events where I sold books at had gone down...

But when I got invited to Carpe Diem's artist showcase event, (Happening this Saturday!) I wanted to make something special for it - and this novel's concept best fit their event's theme, 'Seize the Story!'

So, I designed, formatted and placed a small print order to see how these kind of books would turn out. And they are beautiful.** No matter how many reasons you come up with to not do the thing, it's always worthwhile to try.

**To me. They are beautiful to me. I hope others find them beautiful too, but right now I'm just happy I did the thing to make them exist.

So, because patron funds were used to develop this new type of graphic novel, it is going to be a Swag reward for patrons! Everyone who pledges in April will get a digital copy of this graphic novel, and those who pledge $15+ will have a physical copy mailed to them!

More reward details will be posted after I finish the event this Saturday, but in the meantime I hope you're doing well, thank you for your support, and remember you're awesome.
