So, no bonus vore for this page, but we do have a fair amount of the workings of the Fel Habitat on display in it's stead, alongside a cutaway view!

The Fel Habitat's exact dimensions might not be entirely factually correct for materials sciences (for artistic reasons) however the general working theory is that the station is roughly 5km in radius with spin-gravity providing about 1g. This makes for a rough circumference of about 31km. For the species that made the station, this is ample to hold a great many of their population.

This does, however, mean that to generate that spin gravity the edge velocity of the habitat is around 796 kilometres per hour, or 495 miles an hour. This may sound pretty incredible, but in theory this is at the edge or two very, very important metrics: The speed one can expect to dock with the habitat exterior, and the strain modern used materials in real life that can support such a structure. That's not counting the later addition of the central palace. In all likelihood it might not be close enough to be hard sci-fi material tolerances, but there was an attempt! Timor and myself debated the external docking a fair bit, with the external clamp being a way to ensure craft docked will not be thrown off into space even if grappling failed.

Why is there no water flowing down the dam? Well, that's because the water is actually being pumped up the dam. The single main rider channel is maintained by a number of pumping stations that raise the river level to allow it to flow down to the next station. While inefficient, for the folks that use the habitat, and very much their friends, it is important to maintain as much of a natural feel as they could.

The main workings of the ring habitat show two main levels under the hood as it were. you have the upper layer, which is a storage section for rocks, minerals and the like. Due to the time sensitive nature of building the station,it was deemed best to put as much mineable material in the structure for later harvesting as possible. This allows the habitat to have a long term source of mineable materials to build with, which are then sent to the lower levels. These lower levels have large areas of empty space alongside essential structures to enable the owners to build themselves and their actual industry into the habitat while still providing the bare essentials. Again this was done due to the high time-pressure nature of the construction.

At many places seemly at random there are access shafts that provide bulk transit between all levels of the station. These shafts are contained and do little more then allow easy access to the surface and active layers of the station, with no major infrastructure built for them. Once again these were designed to be used as a settlement point for villages, towns and cities to form over time, using the materials and manufacturing they permit the surface dwellers. As before, the idea was for such shafts when used to provide natural seed crystals as it were for civallisation to bloom again organically in the habitat wherever a shaft was shown to be more useful then others. While there are not that many shafts possible for such a thin ring of a habitat, in the original plans for a more duel O'Neil Cylinder type of habitat there would have been space to dot such shafts all over. Sadly due to time, material constraints and the need to rapidly proceed with a wider diaspora then first envisioned, such plans were replaced with the ring habitat components without putting them together into cylinders. Naturally given events even that backup plan was ultimately superseded with habitats as this: The Fel Station.
