Hey! As promised, this week's release is Honoka from the DOA Switcheroo series by Spizzy3D. I noticed that the previous release had a bit of flickering on the male model, so I re-rendered those parts entirely, which made it significantly better and less distracting. This fix should apply to both Honoka and Ayane.
Other than that, you can expect a WIP of the extremely long (and painful to render) collaboration with Nuttycravat — a 1.5-minute render of his latest D.Va animation.
That animation is so long, in fact, that it causes issues of its own. Due to how the current player is designed, we preload the entire animation into RAM before playback. That's why there's a delay when you first open the experience — it's less noticeable on fast drives, but this animation will weigh close to 20 GB, which definitely won't fit on 16 GB devices.
The new unified player already supports three playback modes to address this:
Full memory preload – Loads the entire animation into RAM before playback.
Partial memory preload – Loads roughly half the animation into RAM, reducing the memory requirement.
Full disk stream – Streams directly from the drive with no preloading.
The reason for these options is that only faster SSDs and NVMe drives can handle full streaming, while slower SSDs will need partial preload. Traditional hard drives, however, will still have to rely on full preload, meaning that unless you have 32 GB of RAM, you won't be able to play this particular animation on an HDD.
