Just wanted to give a quick little update on the animation, and what's left to do.
I have completely finished animation on the expansion. It's locked in, simulated, and done.
I still have to dress the set, which I'm working on.
Once that's done, I'm gonna animate a quick intro that'll showcase why she's there, and why she blows up, and her turning blue.
Then, it's off to render, then sound and edit!
Based on my estimations, it'll take about 30-50 hours to render the entire thing. It's currently about 2500 frames long, but with the intro, it will be longer, probably in the ballpark of 3000-3500 frames long. I guesstimated the frames because the entire thing is techincally 2800 frames, but there's wait periods for simulation and transitions that eat up a bit of the timeline.
I give each frame approximately 30 seconds to render, but that doesn't include computation time before hand, and now compositing inside Blender, so each frame could take 30-60 seconds to render. It could even be upwards of 60 hours of rendering.
This is assuming there's no problems, like with Tied and Bound, but I'm prepared to fix something if it goes wrong, but I know what to look for, and what caused those issues in Tied and Bound, so I'm not expecting the same major problems here.
I could get into the weeds of it and estimate exactly how many frames and what not but it's not really worth it for a quick little render time estimation.
All things considered though, "Caught in the Act" is almost done, and in my opinion, this is my best work yet. I'm super proud of it so far, and I'm really, really excited to show it to you all here really soon!!!
I'm really hoping to have this out by the end of the month, but with the intro still needing to be animated, and the render time, it's entirely possible it'll drop in very early December.
