You guys suggested so many cool topics! I feel like this month's pick is gonna be harder than ever π
Here's a brief description of what I could offer you on each subject β¬
β¨ Skin rendering
My style doesn't display a highly realistic skin rendering, but I can share with you some of my tricks to paint it, what colors to choose, when or how to add shadows and highlights, and even how to add a subtle texture for a more realistic look.
π¨ My Coloring process + Post processing
I wanted to do this with the Sidetail Miku fanart a while ago but it all went so wrong that time π Hopefully now I could guide you through my coloring process step by step while sharing the thought process I go through to pick things like colors or how to shape the shadows, and some post processing too such as using certain filters, sharpening, etc.
π Fundamentals learning path
Art fundamentals appear on almost every tutorial we see. It could be useful to see some of them, how I learned them, in which order, and what are the most basic ones that you need to keep improving your drawings.
π Foreshortening
Foreshortening goes hand it hand with perspective and it's super useful to create more dynamic poses and pieces. I've briefly mentioned it in another tutorial so we could explore how to reproduce that effect and how to overlap shapes in more depth here.
π©βπ³ How to design characters
I'm really NOT a character design expert (or I don't feel like that xD), but it's a subject I've been learning more about over tha past years so I can offer you the advice that I wish I had years ago and which would have made my designing process a lot more enjoyable.
π How to use references to make the most out of your art
Everyone recommends using references to draw, but no one really teaches us HOW to really extract knowledge from them that we can use to improve our drawings. And I think this all comes down to training your observation skills to pinpoint what the reference can offer you, so we could talk about how to critically analyze references in order to bring all that powerful information onto our canvases.
And that's it for now!
Remember that you can pick more than one option. I'm really excited for the results! β₯
