March is upon us, which means here in Northwest the cherry trees are starting to bloom even though it's still pretty dang cold. Who knows what that means? Not me. Let's dig in!
Songs of the Spellbound Sea: Boooooks! Both the warehouses have received their shipments and are working on fulfillment; backers should be receiving address-verification messages from the fulfillers, depending on your region. (I say books, but this is all physical rewards.) The designer and I keep working on the art book, and I'll be doing a round of updates to the foundry module soon; the only update for now is I've signed a deal to distribute as a foundry premium module.
Machines of Bone and Blood: Go follow if you haven't already! I'm hoping to post the first prelaunch update in March, once we get our finalized cover.
Patreon: Retrenched a little bit, which isn't surprising; since I have free trials active, Patreon growth tends to be 2-steps-forward-1-step-back as a few folks cancel at the end of their free trials.
Discord: Continues ticking away and slowly growing. Had to swat a small surge of spammers, unfortunately.
Troubadour, Swashbuckler, Bloodrager: No updates here, as supporters voted for another Necromancer sub over these.
Necromancer: Supporters opted for the Dragonwraith subclass, which is a doozy! Make an undead dragon, and to some degree, become one.
Abomination: Just yesterday I published v0.8, which had a bunch of refinements to the base class and the publication of the Nature of the Forest.
Subclasses: February gave us the Circle of Bones Druid, in case you didn't have enough undead in your life. And as a nice surprise, I did a little collaboration with KibblesTasty to produce the Doombearer Spellblade!
Supporters got a book preview for the Deathhunter Ranger. Also, supporters got the Freeknight, which I actually wrote ages ago but never remembered to throw on Patreon.
Species: Nothing new this month.
Design Notes: Last month's design notes went up just before the cutoff, on subspecies design. This month's is a write up the recent Abomination playtest; very messy, but playtesting's very messy. I suspect some people will really dig it even though it's not a nicely-formatted essay like I sometimes do.
What's going to help us ring in the new year?
Kickstarter: Books should hit doorsteps. Unless I'm cursed by a witch again. Can't rule it out.
Also Kickstarter: Keep an eye out for a backer survey on what went well, what went poorly, and what you want to see out of next book.
Polls: Polls are up for one more day, as usual! Our general subclass poll seems to be a sturdy lead for the Oath of Denial paladin, but there's always room for shifts. Our supporter-only poll this month is culture pack, which looks likely to deliver North African content but might swing to fantasy volcano island.
