When your players arrive in the village of Twistwater, they find the streets and houses deserted. It seems everyone vanished around a week ago. Who is responsible for this strange occurrence, and can the villagers be saved?
The Empty Village is a small side quest in a rural, forested area, focusing on a mystery and some Feywild themes (all very inspired by my recent re-read of The Name of the Wind). And yes, your players can also loot the village for all it's worth!
If combat does occur (it may not be essential to the resolution of the plot), the players will be going up against a CR 6 mage, and could suffer some serious spell damage. The mage fights alone, however, and has fairly low HP, and so a party of Level 4 adventurers should be able to get through this encounter without major difficulties.
