🍑 Game Patch Incoming

The Sims 4 is getting a game patch tomorrow (May 12th / 1.124.⅜̳̳̼̟̮ͨ́ͫ͜͠͠͞͞) which might cause issues for WickedWhims based on the shared laundry list. I will definitely have an update out as soon as possible.

I recommend getting familiar with the compendium of modding knowledge for The Sims 4 written by Luth, to understand what to do when the game updates, how to avoid problems, how to get help, and how things work in general. In addition to this wealth of knowledge, I would like to tell you about another important procedure.

🥑 Complete Isolation Testing

Where taking individual mods out, or the 50-50 method of splitting mods files into batches, can help find which mods are causing trouble, these solutions won't always work.

With complex mods that touch many areas of the game, like WickedWhims, another mod could be silently broken and interfering with other mods functionality, causing errors that point to the wrong suspect. Taking out individual mods or batches of mods that contain the suspected cause of errors can result in a misdiagnosis.

To truly confirm if a suspected mod is the cause of your issues, test it in complete isolation.

Take out all of the mod files from the Mods folder. This includes CC clothing, CC furniture, UI mods, override mods, etc.

Put back in the individual mod that is your suspect. Ideally you should re-download that individual mod to make sure you have the most up-to-date version of it.

If testing that individual mod in-game doesn't cause any issues, you might be using two or more mods that are interfering with each other. One of the mods you use is outdated/broken or causes a conflict. But if that individual mod is still causing issues, then you can be confident that you found your culprit. That is of course if the game itself isn't the reason for your issues...
