It's definetly been a while since I've made any updates to my Onyx glasses.
The whole situation with the FLCoS display being discontinued kinda bummed me out (a lot).
Fortunately, there is a similar display available on Aliexpress which is really close to the original one.
I've decided it's finally time to do a proper 2.0 version of my design since I've learned quite a lot regarding CAD design and electronics.
This time I've decided to make them wireless using a cheap composite video receiver.
I've also made the whole shape in such a way that it more closely resembles regular sunglasses. Old ones were almost flat on the front which looked kinda whack.
The front lenses got a massive upgrade as well. I'm now using real sunglasses lenses that just fit into the 3D printed frame. This makes the glasses usable outside.
I still need to place all of the electronics on the glasses frame but everything is working already.
I feel somewhat satisfied with this design already. There is still some room for improvement but it's a definetly a great start.
I'm aiming for the next week release window (Apr 13 - Apr 19) and I'm fully dedicating to finishing them.
