I'm back with Update All this time. I've been refactoring it for a while, and I'm glad to finally roll out these changes. It's not a full rewrite, but the changes are pretty substantial (representing 30% of the codebase).
Before diving into these juicy changes, I'd like to remind you that I opened this poll last week to gather your feedback on future developments. It has received a few great suggestions so far, and it will remain open until Sunday. If you haven't participated yet, please check it out.
Update All DB
Now Update All will always add a database to your downloader.ini that will be used for fetching Update All files. This makes the self-updating process safer and more robust, and enables the launcher optimizations I also added (see in a later section).
Arcade Organizer
Your favorite tool for organizing arcades has been reworked and is now in the codebase of Update All. This makes execution a bit quicker and solves long-standing bugs, like the one that was breaking the storage of logs (now Arcade Organizer logs are registered as part of update_all.log). Additionally, it now uses the Arcade Database that has just been included in the official MiSTer-devel organization. It's a direct continuation of the work of Toya, who's also taking care of the Arcade Offset project since last year. I'm considering using the Arcade Database for other tasks, especially within Distribution MiSTer.
Aitor Gómez fork
Aitor has been consistently delivering a database with his custom version of the firmware for over a year, and now it's selectable in the Settings Screen. Just go to the Main Distribution menu, and toggle the "Cores versions" option until it shows up.
Launcher changes
The launcher file (update_all.sh) has been updated to take advantage of the build file installed by the Update All DB, and the new cacert file installed by Distribution MiSTer. It launches Update All much quicker, since it doesn't need to fetch anything from the network anymore, and prevents SSL credential issues.
The new launcher will get installed automatically through the new Update All DB.
Patreon shoutout line in Update All
To reward loyal backers at the Supporter+ tier and above, I've been adding their names to the README.md files for both Downloader and Update All. Starting with this release, I'll also display one backer’s name at the end of each run of Update All—rotating the feature daily.

More speed improvements and fixes
The initial part of Update All had some waits that I removed without compromising functionality. The local store format has also been modified to make it faster to load.
I plan to improve on speed substantially in a future release. For now, if you want to get your updates as quickly as possible and don't need to check the Settings Screen or run the Arcade Organizer, just run downloader.sh (or update.sh), since as of today Downloader runs 3-4x faster than Update All, and you'll be getting the same updates.
I also fixed a long-standing bug that prevented Downloader output from being shown in update_all.log. Finally, the logs in update_all.log will contain the whole execution, since the Arcade Organizer will also show up there.
Closing up
One last thing, the BIOS DB just added the Saturn bios this week, so it's a good time to check that fantastic core from Sergiy Dvodnenko if you haven't already.

Estoy de vuelta con Update All esta vez. He estado refactorizándolo durante un tiempo y me alegra finalmente lanzar estos cambios. No es una reescritura completa, pero los cambios son sustanciales (representando el 30% de todo el código).
Antes de sumergirnos en estos cambios tan jugosos, me gustaría recordarles que abrí esta encuesta la semana pasada para recoger sus opiniones sobre futuros desarrollos. Hasta ahora ha recibido un par de buenas sugerencias, y permanecerá abierta hasta el domingo. Si aún no han participado, no duden en dejar allí sus feedbacks.
Update All DB
Ahora Update All siempre añadirá una base de datos a tu downloader.ini que se usará para obtener algunos archivos de Update All. Esto hace que el proceso de autoactualización sea más seguro y robusto, y habilita las optimizaciones del lanzador que también añadí (ver en una sección posterior).
Arcade Organizer
Tu herramienta favorita para organizar arcades ha sido renovada y ahora forma parte del código de Update All. Esto hace que la ejecución sea un poco más rápida y resuelve errores difíciil de solucionar, como el que impedía almacenar los logs (ahora los logs del Arcade Organizer se registran como parte de update_all.log). Además, ahora utiliza la ArcadeDatabase que acaba de incluirse en la organización MiSTer-devel. Dicha base de datos es una continuación directa del trabajo de Toya, que desde hace un año también gestiona el proyecto Arcade Offset, y estoy considerando usarla para otras tareas.
Fork de Aitor Gómez
Aitor ha estado entregando de manera constante una base de datos con su versión personalizada del firmware durante más de un año, y ahora es seleccionable en la Settings Screen. Simplemente ve al menú de Main Distribution y cambia la opción "Cores versions" hasta que aparezca.
Cambios en el lanzador
El lanzador (update_all.sh) ha sido actualizado para aprovechar la build instalada por Update All DB, y el nuevo archivo cacert instalado por Distribution MiSTer. Esto hace que Update All se inicie mucho más rápido, ya que ya no necesita obtener nada de la red, y previene problemas con las credenciales SSL.
El nuevo lanzador se instalará automáticamente mediante la nueva base de datos de Update All.
Línea de agradecimiento para mecenas en Update All
Para recompensar a los fieles mecenas con el nivel Supporter+ o superior, los he estado agregando a los archivos README.md de Downloader y Update All. Desde este lanzamiento, también los mostraré al final de cada ejecución de Update All, uno different por día.

Más mejoras de velocidad y correcciones
La parte inicial de Update All tenía algunas esperas que eliminé sin comprometer la funcionalidad. El formato de almacenamiento local también ha sido modificado para que cargue más rápido.
Planeo mejorar la velocidad de manera sustancial en una futura versión. Por ahora, si deseas obtener tus actualizaciones lo más rápido posible y no necesitas revisar la Settings Screen o ejecutar el Arcade Organizer, simplemente ejecuta downloader.sh (o update.sh), ya que por hoy Downloader funciona 3-4 veces más rápido que Update All, y recibirás las mismas actualizaciones.
También solucioné un error persistente que impedía que la salida de downloader se mostrara en update_all.log. Finalmente, los logs en update_all.log contendrán toda la ejecución, ya que el Arcade Organizer también aparecerá allí.
Para concluir
Una última cosa. Se ha añadido la bios de Saturn a la BIOS DB esta semana, así que si aun no has probado ese pedazo de core de Sergiy Dvodnenko, ahora no tienes excusa.
