Here comes a new challeng... another Update All release! And this one comes with the long-awaited JOTEGO Patreon Access support!
Many of you have been asking for this ever since I introduced auto-sync for the Update All Patreon Key. At first, the idea was to support auto-sync for the JTBETA file, but this goes a bit further than that: JT MRA KAI versions will now be installed automatically as well. I explain more about that below in its own section.
To enable JOTEGO Patreon Access, you need to be a patron of both JOTEGO and theypsilon.
This release also includes two more highlights: a couple of wallpaper databases from Anime0t4ku, and email login for RetroAccount, which many of you have also requested.
Remember, Update All self-updates. So run it once and you'll be in the latest version.
JOTEGO Patreon Access
This feature automatically installs jtbeta.zip in the correct locations. In case you’re not familiar with it, jtbeta.zip is required to access beta and release candidate versions of JOTEGO cores weeks or even months before their public release.
But that’s not all. JOTEGO has also started releasing enhanced MRAs under the “Kai” label, with improvements over the original games. These are Patreon-only as well, and thanks to this new Patreon Access feature, Update All will install them automatically too.
So now that our CRTs are ready, let’s get ready for CPS3. With JOTEGO Patreon Access, you won’t need to manually copy JT files anymore when it arrives.
Note: To enable this feature, you need to support both theypsilon and JOTEGO on Patreon.
Anime0t4ku 16:9 Wallpaper Databases
Our friend Anime0t4ku, best known as the creator of the popular Mister Companion, is releasing two new wallpaper databases.
One of them is the database where he puts most of his wallpaper-making effort, featuring high-quality wallpapers for everyone to enjoy.
The other is a more playful one, created during Pixel Cherry Ninja livestreams and based on suggestions from the chat, often under time limits or specific creative challenges.
To enable them, go to the Extra Content menu in the Settings Screen of Update All.
RetroAccount Improvements
As many of you already know, Update All uses RetroAccount login to unlock all these benefits.
RetroAccount has now been improved to support email login.
In addition, the Account section in Update All now shows the current status of your benefits. It will appear once your device has been successfully logged in and linked to your account.
And that's not all
As usual, this release also includes a number of smaller improvements. The launcher is now a bit more robust in the way it handles certificates. When the SD card is mounted in read-only mode, Update All now provides guidance on what users can do. There have also been several bug fixes related to the overscan implementation, along with many other improvements.
Another change I introduced is that Update All now takes advantage of Downloader’s new drop-in database file support, allowing the Arcade ROMs DB and the BIOS DB to be kept in separate files. So if you see downloader_arcade_roms_db.ini and downloader_bios_db.ini on your SD card, that’s why.
