Hey guys! The Patreon release for this month just came out yesterday, but as you know, I always try to include a progress update in the free preview - so hopefully you were already able to tell that I currently have roughly 14.000 words for Chapter 40, and I am quite happy with the scenes I've got so far! There were a few surprises, but rather positive ones! :D
Now, the rest of this post is a bit more personal - so if you are not interested in that, maybe skip it.
I really love writing and reading comments, knowing my work makes people happy. However, for months now, I've been putting an insane amount of pressure on myself to get chapters out in 2 weeks - even though chapter sizes have doubled or tripled from the 8k words I started with.
I feel like this effect reached its climax around chapter 30 - when I wrote and edited that 50k mammoth while working a 40 hour summer job + wrote am major paper for my university, all in pretty much one month. I feel like I never really recovered from that :/ [But don't get me wrong, I am super proud of Chapter 30 and am super super glad I have written it the way I did! It's incredibly amazing! & I love that you all loved it too :) ]
The point I am trying to make, is - that I've been putting so much pressure with self-imposed deadlines on myself, that I now sometimes see writing as a task. Not the hobby it should be.
I've mentioned in updates before that I want to be more relaxed with these deadlines, but I could never really do it :/
I am writing this all now - because I yesterday wrote a 4500 word long smut therapy fantasy with Brooke, and I realized that I never asked you guys how you feel about the release schedule of my work.
I really really love writing for you, which is why I do not want to pause doing it. And it has been a huge fear of mine that if I don't manage to keep this fictional deadline, then you will start losing interest in the story - and perhaps stop reading and commenting all together. This is the heart of my issue.
So, I want to ask you how you feel.
Now, I realize that after reading all this, your first instinct might be "oh no, you shouldn't stress yourself that much!" - but please try and be honest, so I can see if my fears really are just imaginary, or if there is something to them ^^
Question: Do you care if Chapters for Moving into the World of Streamers take 3, 4 or 5 weeks to release? Do you think you would stop caring for the story, if chapters released less frequently? (but still at least monthly)
Again, I do not want this to become the norm - and I honestly feel a bit whiney even asking this question - but I hope it might help me.
I will still try to write as much as I can, but hopefully I won't stress myself as much and neglect some other things in the process. I don't know...
anyway, if you read all this: Thank you! and sorry for the bother ^^
If you have anything to add, please feel free to use the comments below this post!
Thank you very much for your support on AO3 & here on Patreon, and I hope to be able to make you happy with my stories for many, many more months or even years =)
Thank you!
