You might be wondering why the WIP page is cropped like this! On the original script, page 13 had a little extra dialogue, which would leave a bit of a cliffhanger for the next page, but when I started drawing the first sketched draft of the page it ended up being too cluttered. I decided to push those last two panels to page 14, and split that page's panels in two. So two pages became 3. It doesn't cut off the page exactly where i want it to but it gives the art more space to breathe, as you can see the middle row of panels here is too cramped.
Having more space gives us a better view at the waiter also, which I decided to make a chameleon, one because him using three fingers to hold the wine bottle looks more interesting, and also because I like to draw more uncommonly-used species and I could be giving scalies a bit more love in general. You can tell by now that Xavier's casual classism is what sparks the conflict, and a small detail like Boomer being the only one addressing and thanking the waiter reinforces that. Jenny and Miles have a little more plausible deniability due to their shocked reaction (but that's not an excuse to be rude).
