Hello, good hunter!
Sorry for the radio silence last month; it’s been incredibly busy.
But I come with good news:
First,
Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt is now available on D&D Beyond!
This collab was made possible by the amazing people on the DDB team, so a big thank you to them.Fight nightmarish monsters, wield brutal trick weapons, and survive creeping madness in a Soulsborne-inspired world of eldritch horror — before the Scourge consumes everything.Inside you will find:
7 Gothic Subclasses spanning bone-craft, heretical hunts, and eldritch symbiosis.
9 Trick Weapons & Firearms each transforming mid-combat to adapt to the hunt.
2 Unique Species, the porcelain Manikin and the eldritch-maddened Scourgeborne.
16 Blasphemous Spells fueled by Osteomancy: bend bone, command spine, and turn your enemies' skeletons against them.
A Dying City. Explore Luyarnha, a gothic metropolis consumed by the Scourge, torn between the Radiant Church, the godless Scions, and the factions rotting in its shadow.
As I’m sure many of you noticed, while the full book is 500 pages, the deal with DDB was only for a player pack, so I had to narrow the scope.
I did manage to sneak an extra subclass in there, but I had to cut a lot of content to fit the given guidelines.
I know a lot of you were looking forward to getting the full book, but I didn’t get a say in this, and based on my experience with the DDB team, who were all amazing, they didn’t have much of a say in this either.
On the bright side, the price is lower than usual DDB releases, to reflect the fact that it doesn’t have the full 500 pages of content.
And another bit of good news: If this release does well enough, there are talks of a 2nd player pack, which would include the rest of the player content.
So if you want to see the rest of the book, make sure to tell your friends to grab it!
Before moving on to the next point, 2 things to note:
A. The Osteomancer Wizard is completely wrong. Many of the features are incomplete or just wrong. This is actively being addressed. I had a 1-hour meeting with DDB a couple of weeks back to preview the whole content and discuss marketing. As such, the wizard was quickly looked over, and I completely missed that fact. I apologize for that. I didn’t have access to the content beyond this meeting, so I unfortunately didn’t see it until today. To make up for it in the meantime, I’ve attached the full subclass PDF to this post, free of charge.
B. If you’re curious about exactly what made it on DDB, I’ll pin a comment below with the content.
Next,
Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt, 5.5 edition, is now available on my website!
This one is the full 500-page book, the big chunk.
All the content you know and love, now adapted to the new rules.
All the subclasses have been reworked, all the races updated, as well as new origin feats, backgrounds, and most importantly, art!
(Seriously, check out the “Background section”; we have some fun new art in there)
We’re also looking to build a Foundry VTT integration for it, but that will take time.
Meanwhile, you can enjoy the full PDF!
If you were a Kickstarter Backer, you will find a 50% Discount Code on Backerkit; it’s single-use, so make sure not to lose it! (Code is on your Steinhardt's survey, in the Digital Downloads tab, copy it and redeem it on monkeydm.com)
If you purchased the Box, Book, or PDF via our website, reach out to [email protected], and if we can confirm the order, we’ll give you a 50% discount as well.
A lot of work went into remaking the book, so this is my way of thanking you!
Finally,
Let me leave you with a sneak peek at an upcoming project:
Take Care!
