So, here we are! The first chapter was an appetizer; this one's the real deal, and I hope you all enjoy the ride as we start to peek into Kione's head, while she's trying (and failing) to come to terms with what's become of Sartha Thrace. And amidst her needs, expectations and conceits, she makes a fateful, unwise, and truly, deeply deplorable choice...
I promised myself that, with Rescue Hound, I was going to write more, shorter chapters, since that makes for a much more pleasant update cadence. I have immediately failed; as you'll see, this second chapter clocks in 11.5k words. So at least I can compensate you for the wait
