Alex Billet is a writer and critic, who has written extensively about the intersection of radical politics and music. I found this piece he'd written about country music and listened to his appearance on the Citations Needed podcast, so I decided to call him up to talk about Yellowstone, a show dripping with country music, to talk about the history of country music and how its association with conservatism was a carefully constructed ideological project.
