Hello everyone!
So, I've been experimenting with reflection effects since extending the blending modes in Shoost v0.15.0.
I tried creating a reflection effect on a table surface.
How to Create Reflection Effects
The method is quite simple. Just flip the image and place it with overlay mode.
1. Prepare the same image as the layer you want to reflect
2. Flip the image vertically
3. Set the blending mode to overlay
4. Adjust the position and crop the protruding parts
That's it!
While it's not the same as actual physical reflection, this "fake reflection effect" gives you a convincing result that looks quite realistic.
You can also create water-like reflections by adjusting the blur and color of the reflection.
You can also create reflections on windows, floors, and other surfaces, so give it a try if you're interested.
About the Next Update
Let me share a bit about Shoost progress while I'm at it.
The Screen Effects expressions will change in the next update. Since blending modes have been implemented, I've decided to improve the visual expressions once again.
The biggest changes will be in the Diffusion and Glow effects. These effects will have additional parameters added, allowing for more detailed adjustments.
Diffusion had a somewhat muted appearance before, but I've redesigned it so you can adjust it yourself. Glow will also become adjustable in the same way.
Important Notice
Existing data appearance may change!
Because of these changes, when you load previously saved data, the appearance may change. Scenes using Diffusion or Glow will likely experience changes. I apologize for the inconvenience, but please adjust as needed.
I'm also considering adding other new features, but due to the visual impact of these changes, I'm considering releasing an update with just these modifications first.
I hope you'll enjoy the next update too!
