DESCRIPTION

Hey everyone!

Recently, I ran a survey about Shoost. Thank you so much to everyone who responded — your feedback was incredibly helpful! I'd like to share some of the answers here, along with my own comments.

─────────────────────────────────────────────────

Question 1: Is there anything you love about Shoost, or something you'd really like to see improved?

What people love:

Easy to create a great atmosphere

Running footage through Shoost makes the final look beautiful

Streaming visuals look rich and polished

A wide variety of effects and filters that are easy to use

What people want improved:

Automatically reload the previous scene on startup

Seamless transitions between scene switches

Hotkey support

Integration with external tools like Stream Deck and OSC

Copy & paste for layers and effects

Customizable particles

Lightweight settings for lower-end environments

Honestly, the UI is rough and I think it's turning away a lot of new users

MuRo's Comment:

I'm really glad people are enjoying the improved visuals and atmosphere — that's something I put a lot of effort into, so hearing that it's working makes me happy!

Thank you for all the feature requests too. I really appreciate it.

The request to automatically reload scenes on startup came up a lot. I'm going to look into adding an option for that!

Smoother scene switching came up a few times as well. The issue is that switching scenes requires reloading data, which inevitably causes a processing delay. Rather than just improving the current loading process, I think I need to come up with a completely different approach — so it's not something that can be implemented quickly, but I'll think about whether there's a good solution.

Hotkey support was also a popular request. The tricky part is figuring out what people actually mean by it — do they want to toggle individual effects on and off, or use it as a button to switch the entire atmosphere all at once? Reading through the responses, my sense is that most people want the latter: pressing a button that instantly switches all settings to a completely different configuration. I was already thinking about adding a preset feature, so I'll explore how hotkeys and presets could work together!

Question 2: If Shoost had one "magic button," what would you want it to do?

Automatically apply effect templates based on the situation (chatting, karaoke stream, etc.)

Switch all effects and camera settings at once with a single button

One-button transition to the next configuration, like OBS Studio Mode

AI-powered automatic background and effect generation

Automatically replicate the background blending process MuRo demonstrated

Atmosphere presets like Cinematic, Night, or Stage Lighting

Effects and visuals that react to BGM and volume

A before/after comparison view

Instantly apply effects with a single keypress

MuRo's Comment:

There were so many creative ideas here that went beyond existing features — I loved reading through them all. It really gave me a clear sense of what people actually want to do with Shoost.

The most common theme was switching to a completely different atmosphere with a single button. This feels similar to the hotkey requests from Question 1, so I'd like to think about whether there's a good way to combine both ideas into something that works well!

Question 3: Is there anything you'd like us to cover in future posts, or any feedback on our content?

More Tips content, please!

Tutorials for achieving specific visuals or atmospheres

The current content is already great as it is

Love the excitement of "here's what I want to try next" style creative idea articles

More examples of creative Shoost usage

MuRo's own knowledge and perspective is more interesting than feature explanations

Please bring back the "Shoost Scene Creation Event"!

MuRo's Comment:

Really glad to hear that the Tips and graphics articles have been useful! These posts aren't just about Shoost. They cover visual expression techniques that can be applied in other tools too, so I hope you find them helpful beyond Shoost as well.

As for the 'Shoost Scene Creation Event' — I was actually already thinking about doing it again soon! When submissions open, I'd love for you to join in.

Question 4: A message to MuRo

"It's no exaggeration to say that Shoost is the reason I have the strengths I have today."

"I can't imagine streaming without Shoost anymore."

"It has the same value as the entire Adobe Cloud Suite."

"It's become the app I use most every single day."

"It changed my life as a VTuber and animator."

"It doesn't feel like I'm standing in front of a background — it feels like I'm inside the scene."

"It affects whether viewers want to keep watching my stream."

"It's also been a learning experience for graphics, lighting, and visual direction."

"The consistent updates give me peace of mind, and I'm so grateful."

"I've learned so much — not just from using the tool regularly, but from the color grading and visual direction techniques you share. Thank you."

"I'm impressed by the depth of your knowledge. It's truly wonderful."

MuRo's Comment:

Knowing that Shoost has made a positive difference for so many of you, and receiving all your wonderful messages of support, truly made all the hard work feel worth it — and it made me genuinely happy. I do watch streams from people who use Shoost, but I rarely get direct feedback like this. Being able to hear so much of it through this survey was really wonderful. Thank you so much!
