Hello, everyone!
A little while back, I wrote an article called "Tips for Compositing Anime and Live-Action Footage" Did you get a chance to read it?
In that article, I talked about how to recreate the look of a Log profile. The method I introduced involved using levels to get there, but honestly, having to do that every single time is kind of a pain, right?
So I built it. An effect that converts an image directly into a Log state!
With this effect applied, you can convert the color space of an image into a Log state. And it works the other way too. You can take an image from Log back to a standard color state like Rec.709.
Pretty handy!
...or so I thought. When I stepped back and thought about it calmly, I realized this is actually a pretty niche use case. Not many people are going to be converting their images to Log just to make adjustments there.
So while I did get the underlying system working, I decided to hold off on adding it to Shoost for now. Adding features that people aren't sure how to use just makes things more confusing overall.
That said, if there's enough demand for it, I'm happy to implement it! If you'd like to see this feature added, feel free to le
