Gift card scams are one of the most pervasive and pernicious phone scams out there. Here’s how it works. You receive a voicemail saying you’ve won 100 dollars. Great, so what’s the catch ?! Well, you have to pay the 2 dollar processing fee, which you can only pay through a gift card. Ok, well that sounds like a good deal, I get 98 dollars for doing nothing at all ! Yeah, except you’re not getting any of that money. And once you read off the gift card number the scammer has your 100 dollars ! In this clip, I call back one of these phone fraudsters as Abdo and Rakesh to call him out on his bullshit.
