Well, I'm still being more productive than average, but I'm afraid my hot streak of positivity is over for a variety of reasons.
The ending of Depthless Hunger is something that arrives in stages: in a sense of my work it ended many months ago, the last Audible release won't be until 2027, etc. But this weekend I scheduled the last chapter on RR, which is another step in it being truly over.
I've already been transitioning to something else to occupy that portion of my writing time, though it hasn't been in full production until recently. Actually, this idea has languished on the back burner for a long time because I was so focused on the big TLS release, DStP finalization, and Omnipocalypse.
All the people here recommending me time loop stories after Omnipocalypse finally nudged me to start one of my own, which I hope will be fun. You'll hear more about it later, if I can write enough ahead to be confident that I can manage everything. Usually I have no trouble with this, and I'm way ahead on TWC writing, but I'm a bit worried about the tangle of events being forced on me in June.
Anyway! I've written before about how being a professional requires having multiple irons in the fire and I don't mean to reiterate all that. Suffice it to say I'm continuing to manage a shifting set of secondary projects as TLS is increasingly concluded. I think I'm on top of 100% of bug reports, so I'm ready for TLS 1.2.0 once we finish just a little more art.
Which brings me back around to DH concluding as well. The artwork on this post isn't fanart, it's a commission from Annikath as a small gesture saying goodbye. It's been nice to have these characters as living parts of my imagination for a few years, and they did more to build the foundation of my career than a lot of projects I was passionate about, but it's time to set them down.
My deepest thanks to everyone who has interest in any of my projects, as you all have given me the extraordinary privilege of being able to do this as a career. I want nothing more than to continue, and thankfully it seems I'll be able to for the long term.
