Muur woke up to a strangely alluring melange of soreness and satisfaction. Warmth enveloped the entirety of her body as her brain slowly booted up. She’d taken a bath with Kofle, gone to her room and… And…
Her trailing thoughts were lost as she felt something pull against her tail by shifting behind her. The light tug was followed by the ‘something’ gripping her even tighter– and her memories of last night rushing back to her.
Kofle– Her girlfriend had been the dragon this time around. A jealous, greedy thing that had refused to let her cute little treasure leave the room, and had everything in its power to drag out more squeaks out of her. Needless to say, the miqo’te had managed to get far more than that out of her as the night wore on.
It was a good thing Muur’s magical aptitude was for lightning rather than wind, absent Voidsent nonsense, otherwise they may have gotten noise complaints.
Considering how things had gone, they might still do. In any case, a quick test of Kofle's grip told her that her cat intended to keep her words about keeping her in the room until she decided to let her out. This didn’t leave her with much to do, but thankfully, she could see sunlight crawl along the bed.
It’d missed her eyes on account of the compromising position she’d been snuggled into, but it was starting to slide over Kofle’s face. The gladiator made a few amusing cat-like noises of frustration at having something disturb her sleep even just a little bit, but after a few seconds of the sun’s rays lingering over her eyes, it became pretty clear she wouldn’t wake without some form of intervention from Muur.
So she poked her in the nose with her tail.
It took a few of them before the lazy cat’s eyes finally fluttered open. Groaning with displeasure, she freed Muur to rub at her eyes, “Wuh? What time is–?” A yawn interrupted her question before she could even finish it. “‘m tired.” She declared as she buried her head in the crook of Muur’s neck with a purr.
The lizard wizard chuckled as she took the chance to stretch her arms, not at all minding the nuzzling of her girlfriend, “Morning, we should get up if we want any breakfast.”
“Ate plen'y last night,” The gladiator mumbled, “‘m not hungry… Or thirsty.”
“Pft, just needy in other ways, huh?” Muur chuckled as she wrapped her tail around her lover.
Kofle’s only response was a hum of agreement, before twirling her tail around Muur’s and falling back asleep. Well, that settled that. If a lazy morning she wanted, a lazy morning she would have.

“Thanks for indulging me.” Despite her claims to the contrary. Last night's escapades did actually empty the cat's stomach. A stomach that, unlike its owner, wasn't afraid to demand an end to this lovely bit of sleeping in. And so, after roughly another two hours of cuddling, both adventurers had left their bed.
Slipping on some casual clothes, Kofle turned to look at Muur. “I'd say ‘Sorry’, but I don't think either of us regrets what I did… should've expected you to be a biter though.”
“Was a surprise for me to, haha.” Muur chuckled, before trailing off into a wistful sigh, “By the time puberty hit me, I was a bit too busy with life’s curve balls to really take the time and experiment.” That went for both lives, really. “So thank you for being the best first time a Xaela could ask for.”
The tapestry of scratches all over her back was a testament to that.
Stalking Muur's way, Kofle cheekily blew on one of the hickeys she'd left on the mage's skin and chuckled, “I shall take great pride in that then~. Happy to make that first time better than mine. It was an… embarrassing time for everyone involved.”
“I hear that’s how it tends to go. A lot of enthusiasm and even more awkward fumbling.” Muur chuckled, taking quiet pride in having been one hell of a quick study in this field too.
“That about sums it up.” Without elaborating any further, the swordswoman sat on the bed and kicked her feet up. “Onto a slightly more serious, and far less pleasant, subject. That little adventure was one hell of a payout, I don't think I'm going to be doing much high intensity adventuring for a while. I'm thinking of focusing on helping around the Gladiator’s Guild and learning new stuff. I'm not sure how the Thaumaturge’s Guild does things, but you should probably do the same?””
“Yeah, I also have some stuff calling my name in the Alchemist’s Guild. Just some nice, quality time meditating, training and working in the lab. Oh haha, I just realized, I never got around properly going through those notes and supplies I bought while we were on the caravan escort job. That’s something else for the pile.” Muur chuckled. Ahh, it’d be so nice to just kick back and relax a bit, at least by her fantasy-addicted workaholic standards. Sure, she may have harmonized with her history in this world, however it had formed (and she still had some worries about that, but nothing much she could do about them) but that didn’t make her love magic any less. It was hard to articulate the sheer joy at being able to bend the elements to her will and have to contend with actual magitech and metaphysics in the lab, after a life of dreary mundanity.
“I mean. I'd be surprised if you did.” Reaching for Muur’s tail-fin, the cat ran a hand along her scales and ridges with a groan, “That was what? Two days ago? I'd feel a bit insulted if you'd been in the mood to tire yourself out reading those notes after the night we had~. And you were in an infirmary the night before that.”
“Man, it’s only been two days? It feels like two months, with everything that’s been going on.” Muur mumbled, fuck her sense of time, she guessed.
Ah, well, time to take a breather and get through her backlog.
