So, unfortunately I’m coming off a cold this week and my voice still doesn’t sound back to normal. I considered doing another sick voice/reverse comfort audio, but to be blunt it’s just not a pleasant sound right now even in that context and I’m not really feeling up to it. But I didn’t want to leave you guys hanging with nothing at all in the meantime, so I decided to go with something I’ve done a time or two before and give some fun (or at least hopefully interesting?) facts about some of the characters of the Redacted-verse. Lincoln- when alone in his apartment, he often likes to negate nearly all gravity in the space. While he can never remove the feeling of weight on his core that comes with being a Graviton Energetic, he finds the physical weightlessness to be very relaxing.
Asher- was devastated to learn that the “Blue” edition Redbull has been phased out of rotation, since that was his favorite. Now he gets the “Iced” edition light blue one and spends the whole time he’s drinking it making faces and saying it tastes like an air freshener, which makes David ask why in hell he keeps getting them then, to which Asher replies, “But like a good air freshener, ya know?” Eye rolling ensues.
Blake- although containing D’Deridahn is a metaphysical act involving his magical core, the longer he serves as the Sovereign’s vessel, the more physical changes it is starting to enact on his body, so far most noticeably changing his eye color to a deep orange.
Ollie- still doesn’t understand how “the cloud” works, please don’t ask him.
Meridian (E’Laetum and Min’Ara)- although they aren’t the cause of any person’s Latency, they are aware of it when it happens, as they can feel the blockage in the threads of power that pass through them.
David- Angel recently spent weeks digging through old photo albums and checking with Milo and Asher’s parents to gather up old photos of David and his dad, Gabe, and put them all together into a framed collage, with the camping trip lottery ticket at the center. David hung it above his desk, pride of place in his office.
Corvus- despite having been hit by a bike, Corvus would love to learn how to ride one someday. At which point, his superior reflexes and physical capabilities should make it statistically very unlikely that he would ever be the cause of a bike accident himself. In theory.
Aaron- misses his flip phone so bad he’s considered getting a second phone line.
Huxley- has been super getting into birds ever since he downloaded an app that can identify them by the sounds of their calls, which he now uses on all of his hikes. Freelancer was the one to introduce him to it.
Vincent- the recent changes with the House of Solaire have had Vincent reflecting more on his life before Turning. Previously he felt that the memories hurt too much, but in the spirit of renewal and creating a new life, he feels it’s important not to let the good memories get lost in the midst of the bad. A very minor (but happy) example of this involved him hopping onto eBay and buying a vintage Tamagotchi.
Avior- ever since escaping the trap, Avior has gone out of his way to watch the sun rise each morning. The practice grounds him, and has helped alleviate his occasional obtrusive fears that maybe the entire escape was some kind of dream or illusion.
Geordi- desperately wants to be a plant guy, and with his new place, he’s really trying. The results are still a bit mixed, but he’s getting a lot better! Pulling back the blinds and letting some sunlight in has made a big difference, even if it goes against his blackout-curtain-loving gamer past.
Naos- the app that Naos is a part of which “Dreamer” used to try to find some help was called Daemo Connections, which was created by an Elation Demon, Bootes. He was inspired by similar applications that had cropped up to facilitate vampiric feeding.
Guy- just wants some scalloped potatoes.
Milo- likes his toast dark. To a degree that most reasonable people would call ‘burnt’, but don’t say that in front of him unless you want a minutes-long rant. Bonus points if you loop in Marie, who you can expect to call out a few “Milo Greer, I did not raise you to burn your food!”s.
Gavin- once mentioned that he was very briefly a “favorite guest” of a particular Vampire House, until one of the old blood’s there tried to feed from him, which went about as well as you’d expect. The House in question was the House of Merek.
Porter- while his title of “Blade of the King” is metaphorical (and somewhat ceremonial), it’s also fitting, given his skill with blades. At any given moment, you can expect to find at least three on him, though you’d have to know where to look. Treasure is the only person he’s ever allowed to touch one.
Brachium- could easily change his appearance to better match what it had been when he was a Serenity Daemon before becoming a Deathwalker, now that those memories have been restored to him. But he’s chosen not to, even now that he’s left Death, as testament to his objective.
Lasko- his favorite candy is Nerds ropes.
Elliott- the only amiibo from the original SSB4 set that Elliott has yet to get are the Mii Gunner, Brawler, and Swordfighter combo, because he doesn’t consider them real playable characters, but the completionist in him will probably eventually make him cave and get them too.
Sam- when he was growing up, Sam worked doing concrete for his uncle’s company every summer, and even after all this time he still loves to point out imperfections in any concrete he comes across, much to Darlin’s amusement (and resulting in teasing).
Damien- he still chews straws into absolute oblivion.
Vega- the resentment he feels towards D’Deridahn goes beyond his general hatred of the Sovereignty and extends into the personal; he was D’Deridahn’s ‘first-formed’, and in keeping with D’Deridahn’s controlling nature, Vega was his only Demon for a long time, and suffered for it.
Hush- even E’Laetum and Min’Ara did not fully realize the amount of power they gave Hush when they created him, since he was not solely derivative of themselves like D(a)emons had been, but was in fact a calcification of the very Spellsong itself. As his powers grow, they are just as surprised by the results as he is of himself.
Theo- was born and raised in McKinley, but the House of Merek as a group has only settled in McKinley within the last roughly thirty years. Before that they were much more transient, never staying in one place too long or claiming any permanent territory. The older-school Houses look down on that sort of lifestyle, but for newer Houses, it’s often a necessity in the cutthroat world of the vampiric game.
