It's time once again for a WIP Wedne...! hey wait a minute
I think after having missed the mark on several Wednesdays, I've decided to go ahead and rename these little WIP updates to something that more accurately represents the posting schedule, "WIP Whenevers"! I think it's no secret that my productivity can really ebb and flow, and there are weeks where I don't even touch my computer, or weeks where I really get back on that grindset and crank things out. So some weeks I may not post at all, some weeks I post multiple WIPs, and probably none of them landing on a Wednesday!
And with that out of the way, I can talk a bit about these WIPs here! For OBT, I'm trying to get a good chunk of sketches out of the way to make it easier to get to the buffer I'd like to have before the comic returns publicly. I'm hoping to hit the halfway point for those sketches tonight/tomorrow!
And then some stylistic experimentation for Nothing Gold! This particular experiment was just changing the type of pen I use for lining (something aliased with no differing line weights), lining backgrounds (since an update to CSP made it so I could more easily incorporate it into my workflow), fiddling with some tweaks to Phoebe's design, and doing it all without any line correction/stabilization (I have notoriously very shaky hands. like, "don't trust me with tweezers" type of shaky hands. and "i'm so sorry to that worm i was trying to dissect in middle school science class" type of shaky hands). I actually really like the result... so much so I'm seriously considering making it the main style for the comic! Though it's a pretty big change to commit to, so I need some more time to marinate on it.
