It's been a week since the launch of the Collector's Edition, and as most of you are aware - we are fully sold out! Majority of the orders, in fact over 90% of the orders came from you, Patrons, and I am so delighted and grateful for your support.
Turning Take Off's main running comic into print has been a dream and goal of mine since so many years ago, yet it took incredibly long because the more I wanted it done, the more I needed it to be perfect, because there's something about printed books that feel scarily permanent. And the more I needed it to be perfect, the more I started doubting if Take Off is even worthy.
A lot has happened this year. It's crazy because I've done the things I've wanted to do the most since writing this comic, and that is to publish the books for it, and to go to a convention and meet readers. I want to take the opportunity as well to thank everyone who came to our booth at Dokomi. I still remember so many of the interactions, from readers who came by to tell me how much they love Take Off and the characters, readers who drew and wrote the sweetest cards, to readers who came every single day just to bid the most sincere farewells, it is beyond me that Take Off would reach so many kind-hearted individuals from around the world. I have done a couple doodles of the boys as if they were also at the convention, and I hope you like them :)
It is with your encouragement and support that I am able to get here, to finally, finally have the books for Take Off done. I am incredibly proud of what I have made, even if the doubt still lingers. This entire process has meant a lot as a self-published writer. I hope you all like the Collector's Edition, or the books to come, and I feel so happy knowing that they'll be in good hands!
I understand a lot of you are bummed out about missing out, but!!! The books will still be coming in September 2025!!! I will also be attending NiCE (8/16 Sat) and CWT (8/17 Sun) in Taiwan this summer, with very limited copies of the CE that I've saved for conventions, if you'll be nearby!
I have just shipped the first batch of CEs to my store manager and praying that everything goes smoothly. I will keep everyone posted but mostly on my Instagram stories, so as to not spam things here...!
I will also be pausing July's payment for everyone, meaning existing Patrons will not be charged in July👍 While delayed chapter updates should resume this or next week🎉
