DESCRIPTION

Time for the first swell update of the new year. (For paid patrons only!)

Sections are labeled for your convenience, and there is a tl;dr at the end that sums up all the important info.

Robotnik Destroys Steven Universe - SNEAK PEEK #3:

Click here to see the latest Sneak Peek of "Robotnik Destroys Steven Universe"!This here Sneak Peek consists of two separate scenes that I stitched together. As with all Sneak Peeks, the content in them is subject to change in the final nideo - especially in this instance, since both scenes are in an early state, so there's a good chance I will restructure them to some degree. The latter scene (after the bite transition) was actually made while I was putting together the Sneak Peek. Came up with the idea on the fly and wanted to include it.

Nideo Progress:

Fesh Pince:This month I ramped up my editing of Fesh Pince 4 back to the usual levels. Having a brief break last month really did help clear my head, and I had a decent bit of success implementing some of the new ideas and adjustments that I conceptualized during that time away from the project. There were some struggles along the way, I must admit, as several of the new edits I had conceptualized did not work as well in practice as they did on paper. That's pretty much always the case, though. There was a lot of trial and error (making various versions of edits to test out, experimenting with sentence mixes, ect.) but I'm pretty happy with the results for the most part. The sentence mixing really gets to me sometimes, because it's so hard to tell if it's intelligible or not. I'll test them on people behind the scenes - but for each person, I only have one true shot to get their reaction. After they know what I'm going for, showing them adjustments won't get that true "first time" reaction - which is what I need to know if the sentence mix is passable. Robotnik Captures Steven Universe: The tables turned this month, because Robotnik was actually giving me more trouble than Fesh Pince. Usually I swap over to the Robotnik project when I'm really stuck on Fesh Pince, but I found myself doing the opposite - getting stuck on Robotnik shit and switching over to Carlton to clear my head.I have most of the nideo planned out, but there were some scenes where I could not, for the life of me, figure out how I wanted them to go. I made so many different variations of this one particular scene before I finally settled on something. Towards the end of the month, my editing mindset improved significantly and I was making better progress - but man was I stuck on a few of those edits for a while.I will say, overall I'm happy with how things went for both projects. I actually found that working on the Sneak Peek helped get the creative juices flowing. I think because I had to tidy up some scenes for it, it forced me to quickly make additions that I otherwise might not have thought of. Anyways, I'll keep at it, as always - and I'll make sure you swell folks are updated along the way! Reminder about the delay for FP4 in relation to future nideos:

My next nideo after FP4 won't take nearly as long to complete as FP4 is taking. It's very important for me to make sure FP4 lives up to the legacy of the previous installments, so I'm taking as much time as necessary to come up with worthy edits, and to polish the hell out of it. FP4 is also significantly longer than my usual nideos - adding to the delay. After it's complete, I'll focus on making nideos that aren't as absurdly long, and my upload cadence will be more reasonable.

Closing thoughts:

All in all, progress on the ol' nids went well, in spite of this month eliciting frequent brain frowning. At the end of shitty months like this one, it becomes apparent just how much these Patreon posts mean to me. Even when I'm really struggling with editing, or real life issues, returning here to update everyone and show off what I've been working on - it just feels like coming home. I think it's because throughout most of the creation process, it's primarily just me repeatedly analyzing my edits, and it's easy to get in my head about the stuff I'm making. Coming back to share stuff with all of you gives me a nice mental refresh, especially after seeing your comments and feedback. I say it all the time, and I mean it all the time - I appreciate you guys. Thanks for continuing to stick around, and even if you have to cancel your membership for one reason or another - thank you for hanging around for as long as you did. I'd never hold it against you; I appreciate you all either way.I'll see you swell ass fiends next month!

tl;dr:

-Shared another Sneak Peek at "Robotnik Destroys Steven Universe"! Click here to cheggit out.-Ramped back up my editing of Fesh Pince 4, tried out a bunch of new ideas (some of which panned out, others STANK) but overall had a better mindset while editing it this month, leading to improved results.-"Robotnik Destroys Steven Universe" editing went well, but admittedly gave me more trouble than usual this month. Got stuck making copious variations of some scenes until finally settling on something I was happy with. Progress and inspiration improved greatly towards the end of the month, especially when working on the newest Sneak Peek.-Reminder: Once Fesh Pince 4 is complete, I'll be uploading nideos at a more reasonable pace. FP4 is long as heck, and needs extra time in the oven to maximize smiles.-Talked about how much these Patreon posts mean to me. Even when I'm having a shit month, it feels nice to be able to return here and share some stuff with you swell friends. Gives me a nice mental refresh, especially after seeing your comments.-Patreon content for February TBD!
