Now that Nox Bot GG includes OBS integration, here's how you can connect them together to utilize the currently available features!
This article will be divided into 2 subparts and cover 1) how you can configure Nox Bot GG to connect to OBS and 2) provide an example on how to utilize this OBS integration through actions for keywords, timers, and/or event handlers.
Part 1: Configure OBS Integration Settings
1. Get your OBS Connect Info
Open OBS then go to Tools > WebSocket Server Settings > Show Connect Info then take note of the values (or keep the window open for reference)
2. Set your OBS Connect Info in Nox Bot
In Nox Bot GG, go to Settings > OBS Integration Settings then fill up the fields based on the values displayed in Step 1 -- Server IP, Server Port, Server Password
Note: If you are using the same PC for OBS and Nox Bot GG, you can simply use 127.0.0.1 as the Server Address as this points to the localhost i.e. your own computer.
3. Test OBS Connection
Click the Test OBS Connection button to verify if Nox Bot GG can communicate with OBS! If configured correct and OBS is running, it should display "Successfully connected to OBS".
Now you're ready to use OBS-related actions for your keywords, timers and event handlers!

Part 2: How to Utilize OBS Integration for Your Stream
There are dozens of creative ways you can use this integration with OBS, we just need imagination! To start, here are some example use-cases:
When viewers type !dance, you can show a dancing character on your stream
When someone sends Bits with a certain amount, display a celebratory clip
When someone subscribes, play the noice meme clip on your stream
When some redeems the "Monochrome filter" with channel points, enable the filter on your camera source for a certain amount of time
Allow moderators to switch your scenes and overlays with commands
Periodically show an animated media on your stream (timers)
And a lot more!
But to start simple, let's go with the first example for now. These steps will allow you to configure a keyword which would "pop" or display a media source in OBS when the keyword is typed in the chat.
In this specific tutorial example, we will configure our !lynette keyword to show a dancing clip of Lynette (a character in Genshin Impact) in our stream.
1. Create a New Keyword
Go to Keywords > Add New Keyword.
Then type !lynette in the Keyword field
2. Add Actions
Scroll down to the Actions section then select OBS: Set source visibility and add it twice by clicking Add Action.
Note: We'll explain later why 2 actions are necessary to constantly achieve what we are trying to do.
3. Configure the Actions to Hide/Show your Source
On both actions, select the Scene name and Source name for your media source. In our case, the scene name is Gameplay and the source name is Dance under an overlay group.
Then for the first action (Action 1), uncheck Enabled, while for the second action (Action 2), check Enabled.
This may seem weird at first but here's the explanation: In OBS, a media source will not replay from the start if it's already showing (enabled), that's why we need to momentarily hide it first (disabled) with the first action, the show it again (enabled) in the second action, making OBS play back the media from the beginning.
Click Save to finally save your keyword so it's ready!
4. Configure your OBS Media Source Accordingly
After configuring things in Nox Bot GG, also ensure that your OBS media source is properly configured. Important settings:
Loop: Unchecked (to avoid infinite loop)
Restart playback when source becomes active: Checked (so our hide/show trick above works)
Show nothing when playback ends: Checked
That's it! This can also be used for timers and event handlers and combined with other actions as well to create unique use-cases for your streams. We will start posting more tutorials here in Patreon on how to maximize Nox Bot GG to make your streams more interactive!
