This tutorial shall walk you through the steps on how to stream to multiple platforms (aka multistream/simulcast) such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitch using the Multi-RTMP OBS plugin (part 1), and how to use Nox Bot GG to manage your combined chat (part 2).
Part 1: How to multistream to several platforms concurrently for free
1. Download and install the Multi-RTMP Plugin
Download the latest installer from their release page:https://github.com/sorayuki/obs-multi-rtmp/releases/
Then run the installer and follow the steps in the installer. Or if you downloaded the ZIP file, simply unzip it into your OBS plugins directory which is usually located in C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins.
2. Enable the Multiple Outputs dock
In OBS, go to Docks then check Multiple output to show the Multi-RTMP plugin interface.
3. Configure your stream settings per platform
First thing to note is that your "main" stream platform is still configured in OBS Settings. The Multiple Output dock (Multi-RTMP interface) is used to add other platforms on top of your main stream platform that's already configured in OBS.
Now, in the Multiple Output dock, click Add new target then fill in the fields accordingly.
Name: The name of the platform you are configuring (for personal reference only)
URL: The streaming platform's ingest server URL. You can usually get this from your live dashboard on each platform, but here are some quick references:
Twitch
List of ingest endpoint recommendations:https://help.twitch.tv/s/twitch-ingest-recommendation
YouTube
Default: rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2
Or get this from your live dashboard in case it's different for you
Default: rtmps://live-api-s.facebook.com:443/rtmp
List of ingest endpoint recommendations: https://business.facebook.com/live/ingests/
Stream key: Your private stream key usually found in your live dashboard
Encoder: Choose Get from OBS so it does not increase your CPU/GPU load since it just reuses the main stream encoder instead of running a separate encoder per platform.
Other Settings: This is more of a preference. Check Sync start/stop with OBS if you want this particular platform that you are configuring to automatically start/stop streaming when you click the main Start Streaming/Stop Streaming button on OBS. Otherwise, leave it unchecked. We personally leave it unchecked so we have more control in case something goes wrong with the main stream.
Once done, click OK to save the settings for this platform.
Repeat this for each platform you want to add for multistreaming.
After configuring your other platforms, your Multiple Output dock will show the platforms you added and should look like this:
In this example, our main platform is Facebook which is already configured in OBS settings, then we added Twitch and YouTube as additional platforms to stream on using the Multi-RTMP plugin.
4. Go live!
You are now ready to go live to multiple platforms!
4.1. Prepare your livestream on your platform's live dashboard like you usually do and do it for all the platforms you want to go live on4.2. Click Start Streaming on OBS and go live on your main platform4.3. If you unchecked the Sync start with OBS option in step 3 above, click the individual Start buttons per platform on the Multiple Output dock or click Start All to start streaming on all the additional platforms you defined in step 3
That's it! You are now streaming to multiple platforms concurrently!
