“The briefing room stinks of stale coffee and bad news. Your fugitive slipped the net. Their apartment’s cold, their car’s still parked downstairs, and every credit account they own is silent. That means one thing: they’re paying cash—and the only place in this district where cash still talks is the long-distance bus terminal. Dozens of coaches roll out every hour, barely screened, barely guarded. If they get on one, they’re gone.

Command is already shouting about throwing up a highway checkpoint, but you know that’s a desperate Hail Mary. You need eyes on the terminal now.

Cut to the cavernous bus bay: the fugitive just slapped cash on the counter, grabbed a ticket, and is bolting toward a coach scheduled to leave in fifteen minutes. Unfortunately for them, a squad of agents in black suits and SMGs just stormed in, scanning every face they see.

If the fugitive wants to survive? They’ll have to steal the entire bus and punch it straight onto the highway.

If you want to catch them? You’d better be ready for one hell of a rolling chase.”

Hi guys!

Here’s what’s going down - a long-distance bus terminal battle map!

A couple of months ago, I visited a local bus terminal to take photo references and do some research for this battle map design. I loved how the terminal felt like a cave, yet rays of sunlight filtered through the two main openings on opposite sides. Check out these photos:

Battle Map Layout

The map consists of two main sections:

Internal Section: A long, narrow waiting lounge with a ticket counter. A passageway leads north to an undisclosed area—likely restrooms and an alternate exit. The main pedestrian entrance is on the west end.

Undercover Bus Parking Area: Coaches are parked here, waiting as passengers board and disembark.

Scenario Kickstarters

This terminal makes a perfect stage for a high-stakes chase or investigation:

Fugitive on the Run: The players must track down a known fugitive before they escape. Missing the target could seriously jeopardize the story arc.

Terrorist Threat: With luggage scattered across the terminal, the party might need to locate and neutralize a dangerous package in time.

Map Variants

Tour Buses

Three buses are parked in the terminal. These are provided in a tile format.

Empty Lot

As the description says, an empty parking lot. No coaches are present.

Passenger Luggage

Luggage bags are scattered throughout the terminal—both inside the waiting lounge and outside as passengers load and unload. This adds obstacles, cover, and potential plot elements for your scenario.

We Got ‘Em Cornered!

Two pairs of police squad cars form barricades at both terminal exits. This setup works well for either a terrorist threat or a fugitive scenario, where the target is trapped and the players must act quickly.

That's all for this month folks! I hope my work brings you and your gaming group lots of fun times and epic memories. Let me know in the comments below how you like this one.

See you next month!
