Hello all,It's been a little bit since I shared an art update but as I get back into the swing of things, hopefully this will be a bit more consistent. Here we have the art for Penny the Lakeview merchant. She has hyperpreg artwork in the game but always felt a bit off to not have some artwork of her leading up to that stage. A fun fact regarding Penny, early on in the game's development, she was one of the first side character's I introduced progressive pregnancy for an npc too. With her new art will come with a bit of an update to her questline. While functionally she will operate the same as she does now in game, dialogue has been changed a bit to make her the opportunistic merchant she is. Instead of giving her seeds, she will offer to appraise the seeds value for leah... for a small fee. During appraisal she will examine the seeds and given how fragile they are, may accidently break one. So when you return, she in turn will request more seeds to complete the appraisal. All in all at the end of the questline she will attain her hyperpregnant state and have a chance to become a merchant at your mansion. There will be a bit of a rework to possibly add her into the same building at the blacksmiths so that you have a "services" building at the mansion you can go to instead of heading to lakeview.Other updates, I'll keep it short but I spent some time working on the combat skills. In my effort to reduce the amount of skills and keep things simple, combat skills for the party members have changed in a way that I think I finally like how it turned out. Each character will have four base skills. All of these skills are unlocked when you play the character, no need to reach a certain chapter and such. The change now is with your pregnancy growing, the skills themselves will evolve based on your pregnancy level. Here is an example for one of Leah's skills.Leah Skill Example:Strike: Perform a single powerful attack at an enemyPregnancy lvl 0: StrikePregnancy lvl 1: Rotund StrikePregnancy lvl 2: Gravid StrikePregnancy lvl 3: Massive StrikePregnancy lvl 4: Gigantic StrikeAt the start of the game leah will have the strike skill. As her pregnancy progresses, for example when she reaches 75 power, the strike skill will morph into "Rotund Strike". The skill will functionally work the same, the main change is now the skill does 25% more damage than the previous version. This is a way to show how leah's power grows with her pregnancy which also lines up with the lore. The down side is the reduction in agility which slows how fast your character can act in battle. To sort of pull back the curtain on development, for a long while I was using Mog's ATB (Active Timed Battle) plugin for combat. With the test update I made little while back, I swapped to Yanfly's ATB plugin. Using Yanfly, I have much more tools to help control how skills and battle works compared to previously. All in all, hopefully this change sounds good to the community. Finally, my focus at the moment is adding in more side quests for the character with art that have yet to be added into the game, updating the gallery, and balancing combat for encounters in chapter 3 and 4.
