DESCRIPTION

Too many new games to fit in the title!

We bring today:

Double Dribble, a Konami core contributed by Andrea Bogazzi. Andrea has work on the schematics to make the core implementation aided by an AI tool and my reviews. This is good quality work that aims to achieve the high fidelity we look for

The JTTOKI core, originally contributed by Solal, has been redesigned to follow a closer architecture to the PCB. On top of that, I added support for Cabal to this core. Andrea had intended to work on this but it was trivial after the core redesign so I just did it

New JTGAE1 core. A multi-game core for Gaelco games. Initially supporting Thunder Hoop, Squash, Biomechanical Toy and Big Karnak. These games were designed in Spain and feature a very different art style compared to the Japanese arcade titles.

All these games come to both MiSTerFPGA and Analogue Pocket. Some come to the other supported FPGA platforms as well.

There has been some discussion about AI-driven core development lately. This is my take on it.

I do not like AI-generated ports that add no preservation value, whose accuracy is, at best, the same as MAME's, and that feel like a rip-off of both MAME and the mister-devel/jtcores repositories.

On the other hand, I appreciate it when new contributors show up and try to make the retro scene better, regardless of whether they use AI tools or not.

Tell me what you think in the comments.
