DESCRIPTION

A collab with music by Michael Ghelfi Studios and maps by Canvas Quest.

Scene Flavor

This low-domed chamber has its ceiling dripping with stalactites. Eight tunnels lead to/from this cave. The still air reeks rotting refuse, growing fungi, and some even more unpleasant stench. The thick fungi growth seems to be deliberately cultivated, for a compost of manure and other substances is spread over the floor.

Greetings everyone!

We had an incredible opportunity to collaborate with Canvas Quest this month.

For me, this was the perfect chance to finally write a dungeon synth inspired track. A genre I’ve wanted to explore for a very long time. This felt like the right moment to dive into that sound.

That said, it’s not exactly your typical dungeon synth piece. It wouldn’t really be me if I didn’t bring in some orchestration and make it a bit more cinematic, dramatic, and adventurous. Somehow, the combination works in a strange and beautiful way.

At moments, I’d even say it carries a bit of that dark, mysterious Souls-like atmosphere and I absolutely love that I managed to capture some of that feeling.

The synth strings, old school harp, and dungeon crawling mood are all there, ready to support your next descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth.

Enjoy!
