Here is a standalone page of Higgs, Marco and Star from Star vs. the Forces of Evil. Higgs wants her princess to have her "punished" for her failure, clearly for the sake of preserving her honor and no other reason.
I know I said I was just going to do simple illustrations this month, but I simply couldn't get myself motivated to do anything simple without at least some added context, so I did a simple one-shot page instead. I guess I don't feel burnt on comics overall, so much as I was feeling burnt out on having to do consistent weekly updates of the same thing with a pre-established plot that I was just working to a finish, so the freedom this week definitely helped. Also, in the face of this freedom I decided I just wanted to work this all through to completion, so I didn't bother uploading lines or anything, so I likely won't be posting anything Friday, since here it is now.
I've decided I will work with Star vs. the Forces of Evil for my Patreon content this month while I consider my options as discussed in my previous update. The reason for this is that if I do stay with Patreon after this month I will most definitely be doing a Star vs. Evil comic. I've put a lot of thought into how I would do the comic, meaning I have a lot of lore already imagined for it, so I will be utilizing that throughout the month in weekly updates to see how I feel about sticking with this platform and going through with the ideas. For now I will simply hint some of the concepts in a far more simplified form.
It took a bit more time to do the update this week because I also spent time working out a character model for Higgs, since I wanted to utilize her for this, and likely again throughout the month. The character model is attached to the post. Higgs was a very minor character in the show, but I feel her personality adds an element none of the main characters do, and thus I'd develop her to be a major character in anything I'd do. I've spent time working out how she fits into the world after show's series finale, and I can fit her very well into Star's development years later in ways that I feel none of the other characters can address as well. None of the main cast that I would use actually lived in Mewni with Star. Tom comes close, but he more lived in the Underworld, which isn't quite the same as living in the kingdom of Mewni.
Lastly, yes, Marco's outfit is slightly different from the old model sheet. The reason for this is that the model sheet was done with Marco's look as it would appear while he's working, and this is how he would appear at home. Obviously he doesn't carry the sword and wear the gloves at all times.
