Hey guys, the Mighty Princes are back, in all of their beefy, silly, colorful glory. Two teams of 4 this time. I guess you can pretty easily tell which is the normie and the edgy team. And that they're inspired more directly by the Sailor Moon Inner and Outer team. Have fun taking guesses!
Had I fun doing them? Well, yes and not. They were pretty straining for my coloring muscles, and by the end I've realized that the palette I've chosen had gaping holes in the areas of orange and green.
(Drawing a team of orcs and not caring for the green ramp is extremely stupid.)
It might seem like a non-problem to have a limited palette. "Just add another color!" you might say, and you would be right. But adding colors in Blender is slightly more cumbersome for technical reasons, and I'm a precious little snowflake that wants everything in order and set up from the beginning, and I can't help it.
So these are the preliminary versions of the Mighty Princes, and will stay here only on Patreon. By the first day of March, I will repost them with the revamped color palette plus some new entries to reach the 31 illustrations mark. Because March is the monthly challenge of magical girls: Magical March, which would have always been the better occasion to publish this project.
I had also decided to post a long-winded opinion piece on the Sailor Moon anime (the good one) as caption for this post, and broken into smaller pieces for the singular illustrations on other platforms. But since it's very long-winded and very salty, I'e decided to give it more time to cool down, so I can see with rested eyes if there could be parts to edit out or rephrase.
Will the March update include the orc corresponding to Sailor Moon herself? Well, maybe, but you will meet him earlier because I will post here a short of five pages featuring him. The script is now being edited and as soon as it's done I'll start drawing it.
In the meanwhile, I will work on the following update of Celebrity Bangmatch. Due to the holiday period and my day job, I will have even less time to draw, but I guess that the tricks learned working at this color climax that are the Mighty Princes will help me become more efficient.
See you soon!
