DESCRIPTION
Danielle arrives at the clinic to get fitted for a Milwaukee brace for her scoliosis. A plaster mold of her torso is taken to custom-make the brace. Just as she thinks the procedure is over, the nurses begin wrapping her in plaster bandages again. Confused, Danielle asks if something went wrong, but they explain she’s being put in a full Risser body cast to wear until her brace is ready. Caught off guard, she protests—no one told her she'd be casted right away—but there's no choice. The process of applying the cast continues as she comes to terms with the unexpected step in her treatment.
