I whipped up a new background for this one so I can use it with my less film-specific videos. Let me know how you like it! I'm suuuuper super excited about this one. The basic premise is I want to explore why The Iron Giant is an incredible adaptation of relatively little text and why Warcraft (2016) is an incredibly poor adaptation in spite of and because it had an absurd amount of very rich and dense text to draw from. Sort of a "this movie is incredible , this one is terrible, let's find out why and maybe reach a conclusion about the flaws of fan-catering and why video game films almost always fail as independent works" type deal!I started my channel in 2012 because I wanted to make videos about Warcraft so this is my own little trojan horse to talk about it in a way that makes sense for my channel subject matter wise and I'm really excited to see how you guys like it!!! I also think it's a good way to ease into discussing video games and other media given that I've had a handful of you ask about me covering certain video games in the past. If this goes well I want to doing more discussions of film compared TO or contrasted WITH video games, something like Shadow of the Colossus and the films of Yasujiro Ozu and how they invoke the feelings of nostalgia and regret in a very similar way, for example! Or maybe even covering video game adaptations of film a la the licensed Lord of the Rings games and stuff. I have so many ideas in my notes for that kind of thing!Anyways love you guys!
