Phew! Made it through May. That's one extremely busy month down, probably one or two left to go.
WHAT'S NEW ON PATREON
Sorry it's only one post this month! The next section should hopefully explain why.
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON?
A whoooooole lot of things! As I mentioned in last month's Progress Report, May was a busy one.
In a good news/bad news situation, we didn't end up having to do much for one of the pilots Karen and I are pitching. The good news is that I had plenty of other work and I was barely able to finish that stuff! The bad news is that we had a producer tell us that he keeps hearing writers/crew members say the phrase "Survive til '25," meaning that no one expects much work in the entertainment industry until next year.
We'll keep hoping for something good with our TV writing pitches, but luckily Karen and I have other projects (this Patreon, some Dropout work, a few other freelance gigs) that we're excited to work on in the meanwhile. Speaking of which, I've been doing a lot of off-camera fact checking to prepare for some on-camera fact checking, and I'm getting very excited about the next season of Um, Actually!
But outside of that, I am 90% DONE with two more videos in the album project! Here's the spreadsheet:
Husky Voice and A Jaunty Quest! are both in their final stages (you can see a screenshot of both videos above). Husky Voice is just waiting on a final mix from Jonah, and I just have to throw in a few special backgrounds and edit a final mix of the song in A Jaunty Quest! so you should expect those to be up on the Patreon in early June!
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NEXT?
I'm going to pull out all the stops to finish up those two videos, and then dive right into the hardest part of getting new glasses, since I still want that to be the first video in the new publish slate. I'll be bouncing around with talking small, too many little guys, and *BOO!* as well, since they're getting closer to the finish line.
But as is the case with me, I have added a few more things to the spreadsheet (including some new tabs at the bottom)! promises... is a new one on the sheet, and will probably round out the first seven videos that I wanted to have done before July.
Will I get them done before July? The Productivity Demon on my shoulder tells me to say "YES YES YES, PROMISE IT TO THE PATREON AND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO DO IT!!!!" But the Reality Demon on my other shoulder says "Don't promise that. You're busy, so you should tell them that you might have to push the first YouTube publish to July 15th or 29th so you're not scrambling to publish something half baked." Both of my shoulders have demons on them, and I think that's unfair.
So let's see how things go in June! As a reminder, not all of those video ideas on the spreadsheet will be part of the album or even come out this year! I've had a thought for a very big, Health Insurance-style video for the end of the year, but I should probably focus on the rest of the videos before getting to that.

Now that I've written down the disclaimer that not every idea on this sheet will come out this year, I am going to point out the new idea *sonny cher* down in row 21.
If you thought, "Did Brian just write down 'sonny cher' because he found a pair of matching outfits in a costume supply store going-out-of-business sale and insist on buying it because they were the perfect sizes for both Karen and Brian and then he just wrote down 'sonny cher' because he wants to have an excuse to wear the outfits together in a video?"
